I dont believe we are owed any apologies from any nation, SPECIFICIALLY with respect to the trans-atlantic slave trade. And I am going to assume that you are referring to "Europeans/American" nations, in this respect.

Now your first wrong move was to "assume" full examination was what was required Dr, as taught in medical school!.....I asked a question that was open, not in any way a trick question. Long and short, I dont agree for one reason, just because one race committed such atrocities to their own does not excuse others from acknowledging their part. Each Nation be they African or not should take responsibility for their part, the wealth accumulated as a result and the legacy passed down to generations of Africans. It should be acknowleged and reparaition should be made.......by the way I'm still in your fan club

But i did not start writing the prescription as yet.
I merely performed a triage to arrive at a prediagnosis.

Please note, I did not state that one nation was "excused' their atrocities simply because another has done it.

Note that I DID say "Slavery by any other name or nation is slavery. And it is wrong".

But nevertheless, I DONT believe that acknowledgement of a wrongful act by one nation warrants an apologies and reparations while another is let off scot free.

If we are going to start our journey back in modern history in persuit of wrongful acts and reparations then its only befitting that we start with the British.

And as far as the whole reparation issue is concerned..Personally I dont believe in legacy. the ppl who commited those acts are all dead.

Whatever was wrongly done to my foreparents can not be atoned by reparations. I will not hold a nation or a race accountable for the mistakes made by their forefathers.

I am what I am today despite the evils and atrocites that has been inflicted on my forefather.
In some sick,twisted way, I am not sorry that by whatever turn of historical events, I was born in a "free" world with the capabilities of becoming who I wish to be.

The knowledge of the rape,blood, sweat and tears of my foreparents have raised me to honor their memory and their contribution to this modern world.
It has not left me Bitter but rather, better.

Out of Evil, comes Good.
