A Serious Request of ETJ.... from urban. - Jamaica Talk

Hi folks... yes, I have something serious to ask. First, big up to all of you for all the fun we have here, and sometimes meaningful discussions... but mostly the fun. I'm sure JamCam, Stamina, and BB would agree too.

Anyway, my request is this:

A few of us have, from time to time had what have lovingly come to known as "alters." These little side-trips have been the source of much humour and we've all had lots of fun, and will continue to do so.

When newbies join up, and their posting is awkward-looking or in any way a bit strange, I understand that alot of you figure it's likely to be an alter. Please, please keep that initial suspicion to yourselves, or share thorugh PM. Too many newbie threads get filled with more: "Hey _______, is that you???" (insert: urban, D-Rock, GG, or of course the queen of alters, JamCan)

These could potentially be off-putting to the new member...and remember we are struggling to reach that 100,000 member mark. Each time I see this--especially when I figure it is a real member--I cringe. I don't usually even post about it because I'd prefer to let the issue drop.

I hope you find this a reasonable request.

Funny how some things offend you, Urban, and others do not. Think I better go find Teach and have her help me start an anti-mod campaign for the second week in a row.

Offend? Once again I find myself asking "did you read my post?" lol. I'm not offended by many things. Racism and other types of hatred offend me, but that is not what this thread is about. If you disagree with what I asked, give a reason. Otherwise, go make your anti-mod thread.

You know I don't really have it in me to make an anti-mod thread, so stop acting like you think I would even really do that. Venting!!!!!

Just don't think it anything to be deleted after all that goes on, on here daily.
