Re: travel with no visa???
There are some islands according to the travel agent in Mobay that a Jamaican does not need a visa. As I stated one s Curacao. They do need a passport but that is a different piece of paper and identification.

Re: travel with no visa???
Basically they can travel to other caribbean islands including Bahamas i believe. Best to check individual countries websites for visa documents. I also believe Mexico they do not need a visa.

I thought they needed a visa to travel out of Jamaica, no matter what.

Re: travel with no visa???
NO! There are some islands that only require them to have a passport. This is from a travel agent in Mobay that was trying to find a place for Ted and me to have a little vacation. We are going to try to have one when I return.

Re: travel with no visa???
That's good to know, JM. Point is moot for us now. He's stuck in the US until we get the final paperwork through or apply for advance parole (that term kills me).

Jamaicans can travel to countries within the Caricom member states with out a visa. This usually included Cayman but they have recently insisted that Jamaicans have to get one because more and more crime and other activites were increasinly being done by them. I do think you may need a visa to South America though. But once you need to enter either US or British Airspace a Visa from that country will be needed. Its not hard to get an American Visa really once you have assest and good standing here and they dont think you are gonna run away anyways. I think right now its about US$100 to apply for one and then the embassy sets and interview date and then its up to the interviewer to grant to visa to you. The person will get either a 5year or 10year visitors visa (what code is dat? k....something)there maybe more information but just ask ok.

Re: travel with no visa???
thanks for the replies every1. I always hear it's so hard for jamaicans to get a U.S visa but luckyD makes it sound so easy. I would do a fiancee visa but my ex won't give me a divorce. . .so til then , i wait for my freedom.
I'll have to check out caricom member countries then...as i don't think i'm going back to jamaica real soon as i spend a month in jail there on my last trip & to put it lightly IT SUCKED! i was finally let go as they dropped the charges against me. That is why i am seeking another meeting place for us. |
