The UN International Slavery Memorial Day is on August 23 2006 for all Slave Descendants of the Black African Holocaust.

I think its GREAT that finally all Black Descendants of the horrors of the Slave Trade have a DAY that we can mourn our ANCESTORS collectively.

In Britain every year on at the 11 hour of the 11th month they mourn the dead of World War I and II.
The JEWS mourn their dead of the Holocaust - but whatever happened to BLACK PEOPLE MOURNING THEIR DEAD GIVING THEM THE HONOUR THAT THEIR ANCESTOR TRULY DESERVE WITHOUT WHICH WE WOULD NOT BE HERE TODAY?????????

The scriptures say: "If my people who are called by my NAME will HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY....... You wait and SEE THE BLESSINGS DUE TO THE BLACK RACE WHEN WE DO SO COLLECTIVELY!!!!!!

What is your country planning to do on that day? What are your plans for the memory of your ancestors????

I think it's a great idea, and long time overdue.
Just one little point from your post though my friend. 11/11 in England or Remembrance sunday is to mourn and remember ALL the victims of ALL wars. Combatant and civillian. It was originally set at that day because 11/11/1918 was the end of world war 1 which was supposed to be "the war to end all wars." Agreed, it was originally focussed on WW1 & WWII but now not so many veterans of those wars still around. Not picking holes in your post star, just thought I'd point it out. Respect.
