Re: Jah Cure

Great conscious artist, seems like he's an other victim of the system, babylon always persecute rasta and especially those who have a great talent .
From Leonard percival howell ( leader of the first rasta community in Wareika) to Bob, P.Tosh or even Garnet silk whom death remains a mystery; Rastas have always been persecuted by the establishment because rastas show the pagans that they are corrupted and they can't stand it.

Me love one of the latest from Jah Cure on the ''drop leaf" riddim : "longing for" and on the fifth element label '' good morning Jah jah '' and almost all of his older tunes are excellent especially the combinations with sizzla and jah Mason like "kings in this jungle" or "run come love me"

From the same crew my favorite one is " Chuck Fenda" and Richie Spice.
Chuck Fenda have a new tune on ''crystal woman" riddim called :"perfect love" and on "Lava ground riddim" : " Jah is my witness" that really mash up !

Free Jah Cure and all the innocent victim of Babylon System

Bless all the rightous men and women .

Re: Jah Cure

i was first introduced to jah cure's music when my boyfriend gave me the ghetto life cd and told me about how he was imprisioned. he told me that listening to jah cure's music brings tears to his eyes. when i got back to the states i listened to each song and also fell in love with it. since then i've heard several other songs and i love all of them. every single one of his songs are so deep and intense! when he sings you can hear his emotions in the song. i don't think there are many artists who have that ability.

while i was in jamaica last month i was riding in a cab on my way to a party in trelawny. "longing for" started playing and i was singing along with it. the two other passengers in the back seat noticed me singing and were so shocked that i knew the words to a jah cure song. i love me some jah cure!

Re: Jah Cure

I love Jah Cure and all that he stands for there has been a great injustice done to him and when he's free I'm at the first concert strait from the US no matter where it will be.
They obviously don't know that he's not just another artist,he's the Michael Jordan of his game. Jamaica will generate more revenue when ever they Free Jah Cure because lots of people have decided not to go back until they do I used to go about five times in a year until I found out, now I will not go until the man is free.
I joined the movement to Free Jah Cure.

Re: Jah Cure

Umm... not to stir up an ant's nest or anything (even though that's what's likely to happen) but how come y'all so sure he's just an innocent victim of bablyon system? How oonu know seh him neva guilty? Me cyaan swear fi no man still, casue me neva did deh fi si exactly weh did a gwaan, but it just facinates me that people can be so polarized passionate about a persons guilt or innocence when they really can't say for sure whether the person is guilty or innocent. Whether the guy can sing or not is irrelevant (he has some catchy tunes though).

Anyhoo, the Gleaner ran some articles on the Jah Cure saga recently.

Here's her side of the story.

Here's what Jah Cure had to say.

Jah Cure

While being in Jamaica these past couple of weeks I found that Jah Cure is the talk of the town with alot of the Jamaican People having a geat love for him and I too fell in love with him and his new CD and song: "TRUE REFELECTIONS"

Written By: Duane Stephenson, Gladstone Wright & Electric Dread. Produced by: Downsound Records LTD.(Black & White) Riddim Mixers" Rick O'Neal, Micheal Adams & Andrew Gregory.

Intro
Dah da da da dah die
Dah da da da dah die

Verse 1
Behind these prison walls
Doing my paces, doing my time
Spending my restless nights
Visioning faces oh they are crying,
crying
Prison a no bed a rose
The livity it makes me bawl.
I wish that Jah could coe and
take us back in time.

Chorus:
Cause I swear that I can be a better
man
Yes I swear if only you could
understand
The faith in me shall set me free,
Reflection
The faith in me shall set me free,
Reflection

Verse 2
Behind these metal bars
To Jah Jah I'm chanting
I pray for love divine
I'm oh so sorry a man
Deeply I'm hurting
The price ordained to be mine
Impossible to see the changes that
I have made in my life
All they see is just the boy I left
behind

Chorus:

Bridge:
Don't judge me wrong
Cause now I'm stronger than I
was before
I was young and unwise
Didn't you hear my cry?

Impossible to see the changes that
I made in my life
All they see is just the boy I left
behind

Rep Chorus:
Cause I swear I can be a better
man
I swear if you only could
understand
I swear I could be a better
man
And I swear, I swear
The faith in me shall set me free
Reflection
The faith in me shall set me free
The faith in me shall set me free
Mmmmm, mmmmmm
The faith shall set me free
Set me free free yeah,
Freeee.

When I first heard this song over the Jamaican Radio Station Irie FM I cried, slinging tears all over the place. Wow! what a beautiful song it really touched my heart.....

God sit's high and He looks low and see's everything. Guilty or Innocent we will never know the truth, only God knows. The fact still remains that this man is very talented and I beleive in my heart that he will not be behind those prison walls ever again.

I am certainly a fan of his and wish him all the best as he makes his journey down the road towards success and a bigger and brighter future. I hope to catch one of his shows in Jamaica someday.....I don't know how true it is but I did hear he was getting out on December 3 of this year when I was in Jamaica. Just hear say though.
