Angry NY International Car Show
Every year, I go the Jacob Javits Convention Center to enjoy the NY International Car Show. Most major manufacturers as well as a few exotic ones display their current and future models. There are your usual assortment of cars and people each year. I've been noticing more and more young people of color have been attending each year. Watching their excitement over the same vehicles I used to or still adore and spewing accurate specs for specific models bring a big ole grin to my grill. One youngin' surprised me with an accurate account of my favorite, the BMW M5. Even better was his comment that if he the money to buy one, he'd learn how to handle it first by taking a few racing lessons. Now that's a boy I could teach a thing or two!! ANYWAY, what I've also noticed is the increase of gang members and wannabe aspiring rappers that show up spewing foolish lyrics and "hollerin' at da shawties". We passed a group of n----, (I know, I'm trying NOT to say that) ummm fools yellin at a group of women in an attempt to get their attention. Something like... "Yo, shawty wid da boy butt!! Come here!" AT that point, I decided to go downstairs. Of course, commotion started and then........

JA that really sucks huh? Can't a car enthusiast go enjoy himself anymore? That kinda behaviour is so STUPID and if they must do it they should leave it to the streets where it belongs! Sorry to hear that....

Tell me abou it. What really pissed me off is the fact that they closed it early and I didn't get to finish seeing what I wanted.......

bro im pissed off as well... i remember going there all the time growing up. it was always a family event. i never missed it...it was one of those events i always looked forward to. Just shows you that times are getting ruff. hopefully next year around they will beef up security so that once again all can enjoy with there family and keep an eye out on those that love toe messs it up for the rest of us. by chance did you get any pictures of the cars and displays. we have it done here but its on a smaller scale compared to NY

The security was pretty good. You can't really prevent them from coming in, unfortunately. I'm just glad there wasn't a problem with weapons. I did get a bunch of pics though........
