Volkswagon Phaeton
Would you pay $96,000 US for this? Its a 12 cylinder, 420 HP regular looking car! If I was gonna spend that kind of money I'd buy a Hummer. What's your views?

No sah. It is not all that hot IMO. Buy a hummer instead as much as I don't like them.

Well at least if you have to take out a MORTGAGE on your car....you can live in the Hummer.....its big enough!

Dunno why VW made the Phaeton.
They own Audi who have the A8 and the Pheaton in the UK drops to about half price only a year after you drive it off the forecourt new! Notwithstanding the fact that Mercedes and BMW must be laughing up their sleeves... More money than sense.

In Italy that version costs € 116.000!!
Could you pay this price for a car that's just a bigger VW Passat???  That' s the reason why in Europe it has been a great flop!

People are saying that VW is messing up their marketing. They're making their cars too upscale which makes no sense--since Audi is supposed to cover that market. VW used to appeal more to younger crowd and I read that they are losing that. Why would a company compete with itself?
They only make a few thousand A8s each year--and even less of the VW "big car." Why bother? I drove VWs for years, and I love them... but I wouldn't buy that one.

there are a lot better cars in that price range. also dont see the point of competing w/ yourself(audi). i like there golf line...but other then that im not a big VW fan
