That New-Car Smell!
OK, so now I am thinking seriously about buying a new car.
I have already been to a few dealerships and done some testdrives.
I even test-drove one of those new hybrid vehicles (pppft! ); sorry, I am not that "Green-conscious".
Anyways...when buying a new car:
1. Would you prefer accepting a deal on the car of your choice having a particular color but at discounted price, over the same type with your favorite color but which cost more?
2. Does it matter whether the manufacturer is US, Japanese or European?
3. Are you more concerned about style, fuel economy, durability or resale value?
4. How much time do you spend on research; Online reviews, etc?
5. Are you fussy about creature comforts such as leather, heated seats and navigation system?
6. How important is the opinion/input of your friends and family in making a final decision?

Re: That New-Car Smell!
The only thing that mattered to me was that it was white. I like white cars. Otherwise, my only concern with a car is paying the sucker off so I can enjoy life with more $$$ in my pocket. My car's 7 years old and will soon be paid for, after that....that's it. I'll drive the sucker into the ground.

I would choose price over color for the most part...but have never had an issue..the cars I have bought seem to come in the colors I prefer
2. Does it matter whether the manufacturer is US, Japanese or European? It doesnt matter to me
3. Are you more concerned about style, fuel economy, durability or resale value? Durability, then fuel econonmy, then style.... resale value juss falls into place wen you buy a dependable vehicle
4. How much time do you spend on research; Online reviews, etc? I spend at least a week or more. I am one to compare and research extensivley..lol
5. Are you fussy about creature comforts such as leather, heated seats and navigation system? to some extent, but it costs mony wen you get tooo fussy.
6. How important is the opinion/input of your friends and family in making a final decision?

I little...but definately not the voice of a final decision.

Anyways...when buying a new car:
1. Would you prefer accepting a deal on the car of your choice having a particular color but at discounted price, over the same type with your favorite color but which cost more? No Way! I must have eggaxtly what i want or else, forget about it. If not, I will live each day regretting that I didnt.
2. Does it matter whether the manufacturer is US, Japanese or European?I couldnt care if the car was made on Jupiter by Martians. As long as I like it, and its what I want.
3. Are you more concerned about style, fuel economy, durability or resale value? All of the above (except fuel economy) was absolutely important to me. Now, Fuel economy takes the lead.
4. How much time do you spend on research; Online reviews, etc? Hours, Days, Weeks if necessary.
5. Are you fussy about creature comforts such as leather, heated seats and navigation system?
Yup...Not so fussy about Nav system.
6. How important is the opinion/input of your friends and family in making a final decision?

My daughters opinion is VERY important. Not that it would make me change my already made-up mind. . But I am satisfied only after she is sold on it.

White???
That must be the only color I hate in a car.
My Lexus is White but its only because I chose a "deal" over what I really wanted.
But never again.

Not me. I'd regret something important like if I got fired from a job, wasn't able to feed my child, etc.
A car is a luxury if it has 4 wheels and runs properly.
