Well...figured out the problem....don't tell her that I told you...however, the bulb did need to be replaced....each time that I pulled over to check the bulb...I had the Mrs. check it....only to find out that she was looking at the wrong set of lights.....so the bulb had indeed blown.....took a few dollars and 2 minutes to fix.

Re: Car Help...
This juss reminded mi of my past issue. The engine light finally went off, but ever since my fuel tank meter is off and the digital response of DTE (Distance till empty) isn't working correctly either.
What might be the solution to this??

I'm not an expert nor am I rinch, but diagnostics should be able to tell if your fuel tank gauge is bad or if you have some short. The tank level meter might have triggered the engine ligjht before it died.
The DTE is linked to the fuel tank level, so if that meter goes there is no reading to compute. Translation; if the fuel tank meter goes dead, it will not send data to the DTE, which in turn will show blank.

Best case: Your fuel sensor modul is bad.
Worst case: You may need a new complete console module.
That's the whole indication system located in your dashboard. It has several imbedded microprocessors.
Its very expensive to replace....not to mention the labor cost just to take the dash out.

Its interesting that you even said that.
I had a SUV for the last 4 years.
The factory warranty ended in May of this year. In June I took a road trip South and on my return I noticed that my Speedometer was stuck at 90 MPH.
When ever I start the engine, it would jump back at least 10 mph. In order to get it back to zero,I had to switch the ignition on and off a couple ff times.
Anyways, after driving for about 40 minutes the problem would return.
I finally took it in to the dealer who told me that the warranty had expired so I had to pay $350 for a completely new console and another $275 for labor.
Anyway,I decided that there were more important things to consider (my daughter going to college) than be able to accurately determine my speed when driving> Besides, I always drive over the speed limit on highways anyway.
Come last month, I decided to trade in my truck, faulty speedometer and all.
11 days after I received my new car I got a letter from the SUV manufacturer telling me that they detected similar problems in all their '04 models and they are now issuing a factory recall to replace the complete module for free.
Go figure.

It's figures! I think I'll check into the warranty part of it or possibly even a recall now! But if its expensive I'll probably juss opt to keep the gas tank full all the time and deal with it until the next vehicle!

I would suggest that you seriously go online and checkout teh factory recalls and extended warranties for any such possible issue.
You never know.
