Hummers
Just wondering, can Jamaicans afford to drive a hummer in Ja??
I was wondering because a friend of mine's father bought one and I wonder, does it cost 2x as much as a house in Ja?

Re: Hummers
I don't know about in JA but if I wanted to buy a Hummer here I'd have to sell everything and take a mortgage out on one! LOL, but I guess they're almost as big as a log cabin so I could live in it right!

Yes...We actually have a few Hummers here. I have come to the conclusion that Jamaicans can afford almost anything. It however is out of reach for the average Jamaican. But at approx. $60,000 I'm sure its out of reach of the average american too. Suffice to say only the very rich can drive a Hummer here especially when we have taxes/duties of approx. 200%. Thats right...you would have bought it 3 times to own it in Jamaica

I know cause I've driven a few myself. It's powerful and hi-speed. Bu hummers are classy and hugh. I don't like them personally cause it reminds me of the military and I dare not want to be reminded about that.

NUFF man uh do dat mi jus' uh talk bout it di odda night too! Nuff man live in cyar cuz dem nah 'ave nuh sense!
If you friend bought the car, bought the insurance policy, and is willing to pay for any maintenance (cuz even an oil change is expensive as hell on a HUMMER) then his dad is good to go! If not, that come like a burden more den a gift!
If I had a parent in the West Indies, and I was gonna buy them a car, it would be a Honda because at least they can afford to deal with it over there... then again a HONDA is a high end car over there... so mi nuh know!
