Car culture evolution

Evolution is a gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form

Consider the Jamaican car culture:

1980's -toyota corolla SR-5 modified with webber carburetor

late 1980's - Swift GTi and Honda civic Si hatchback era - fuel injected

Ealry 1990's - Turbo Startlets - turbos started getting more popular

Late 1990's into 2000 - Turbo still ruled but a mutated breed The EVO's, WRX's , Skylines, Supra's and all those that weren't born with turbo had turbo surgically implanted (civic, levin, integra, etc...)

I was born in the 70's (1975 to be exact) so i don't know much about cars before the 1980's. Maybe someone can fill in info on the performance car in jamaica before the 1980's.
