yes u haffe clean rice
U haffe wash it till it tun clean.
if u note, that if u leave the rice long enoh, that it will have small flies in there. Why is that u ask? It tun flies because tiny eggs are in the rice, and hence the reason why y haffe wash it, and plus sometimes tiny stones in deh too..

Re: **Having problems with/doubts/concerns about/questions about a Jamaican? Read Here!**

Red-de-buggie some Jamaican guys do wanna get to the states but not all......some are just content with females sending cash down to help them survive.....I saw it 1st hand as my boyfriends cousin who stays with him from time to time had all these western union receipts with different womens names on them from different parts of the states/country.....one might ask, how do I know my guy isn't doin that? (answer) I don't know but I can say one thing for sure if he is, more power to him cause he ain't gettin nothin from me. I do love him but hes a grown man and can take care of himself....and as far as him coming to the states, I've been there done that before with the last Jamaican guy I bought here then married. Must admit though the break up was my fault, he's still tryin to get back, im just not intrested.

Key point is, whether in love with a man in the states, Jamaica or any country one must always be careful cause love is a gamble in itself. (I've always dated foreigners and you if think Jamaicans are bad, whoa momma don't let me even get started on those Africans) "no disrespect if their any African dudes on the thread"

Pray that I am not doing the wrong thing and that I have not let myself be manipulated...pray that for ONCE in my life the happiness I found could be real...

I know how you are feeling! It is hard not to feel down reading some of the stuff that gets posted on here! But I believe you have to take risks sometimes - just make sure you don't risk more than you have! I went into my relationship knowing full well that I could get burned, but I was willing to take that risk. And so far I don't regret that. I will let you know if I feel that same way in 10 years time!
I hope it will all work out for you.

Thanks so much girl...I went into this fully knowing there were risk and full ready (i thought) to take those risks...but getting cold feet for some reason and unsure about it all now I am not known to always make the "best decisions" expecially when it comes to men

Theres so much to risk whether its a Jamaican or someone from the states. You have to deal with the individual not the culture. My first major heartbreak was by a Jamaican from the states but I have to move on.
Will one from the country break my heart too? its a possibility.
But whats to guarentee anyone wont break your heart? Just be smart.

Re: **Having problems with/doubts/concerns about/questions about a Jamaican? Read Here!**

Hi Junk . . . I'm new to the board but wanted to step in and introduce myself. I see/feel a little bit of "me" in "you".

6 years ago I went to JA and met a young man (come on now, not "that" young). We spent an incredible evening together and the following 2 days kept missing each other on the island. I left without seeing him to say "goodbye." We communicated via phone for 6 months after my vacation, and when he asked me to return to JA to meet his family, I bought a ticket! 3 weeks before my trip, I "got cold feet" and abruptly ended the communication.

I've lived with that regret for 5 1/2 years. There hasn't been a single day that's gone by that I haven't thought about, and missed, the man I met -- and wondered what "could" have been had I went out there on that limb (isn't that where all the good fruit is?).

Two months ago, I returned to JA. It had been over 5 years since I'd had communication with the man I'd met. Truly, I didn't go back to look for him. We had 5+ years of distance and space separating us. I figured he wouldn't even remember me if I did find him . . .

Well, I wasn't on the island but 15 hours when my heart began tugging at me. I started asking around about him . . . and after 2 days and 3 people (one person called another person and then that person knew his best friend), I located him -- several towns away. I left him a message on his phone, and he called me back the next day! He drove 2 1/2 hours to see me, and we spent 2 glorious days together!!!! I'm flying back in 17 days . . . to meet his family.

Don't live with regrets, Junk.
