1. No, all Jamaicans don't act like the person you're involved with. Jamaican people have different personalities and are individuals - just like people that live wherever it is you came from.
2. Not all Jamaicans take advantage of people. Some do, just as some people in the USA or Canada, or England, or France take advantage of people.
3. If you are gullible, you will find someone to take advantage of your gullibility. Learn to think and act smart with your life and relationships.
4. Yes, if you feel that your Jamaican "friend" is using you, and not treating you with respect, then for crying out loud, stap deal wid dem nuh? Weh yuh a hem an' haw 'bout eeeh? Yuh clearly know weh a gwaan. So unless yuh waan fi get played, step outa di situation nuh? Gorsh!
5. Yes, come to Jamaica, make friends, have a good time, but please, get to know people before you get deeply mixed up with them. It's just common sense.

shalom/peace my brotha,
I am new to da site and still feelin my way through...there is a wealth of knowledge here in terms of the culture period. This was a great post and very elequoently spoken....just by viewing this site and reading some of the posts it just amazes me as to how we think of foreigners in this aspect Jamaican (men/women) and what they are out to do as if it is some new game; when the scripture states that there is nothing new under the sun. American men are no different from Jamaican some of them they play games too and out for just what they can get. Men and women alike sometimes play games and/or have ulterior motives when seeking out relationships etc it is just a human character deficiency.

Re: **Having problems with/doubts/concerns about/questions about a Jamaican? Read Her
I have been in a relationship with a Jamaican man for over a year. He currently lives there. I am white and live in Canada. Whenever I mention him people say one of 3 things.
1 - He wants your money
2 - He wants a visa
3 - He will cheat on you cause all Jamaicans do
And this is without them knowing anything about him, just the fact that he is in Jamaica.
I would like to say that he has NEVER asked me for money and I trust him 100%. He is the sweetest, kindest man I have ever met and I am fed up with defending my relationship. For anyone else that faces this, don't believe the sterotypes. Only you truly know your partner and other people can say what they want.
NEVER judge someone based on colour, background, race, age etc.

So true. Never to judge a man by his colour, background or race because every man was made differently. Plus its ur relationship u must can sence what ur man is really up to.

Honestly I probably would have never let her near my house... but then I am just like that... if it was just me... maybe... but I trust no one around my daughter.
