1. No, all Jamaicans don't act like the person you're involved with. Jamaican people have different personalities and are individuals - just like people that live wherever it is you came from.

2. Not all Jamaicans take advantage of people. Some do, just as some people in the USA or Canada, or England, or France take advantage of people.

3. If you are gullible, you will find someone to take advantage of your gullibility. Learn to think and act smart with your life and relationships.

4. Yes, if you feel that your Jamaican "friend" is using you, and not treating you with respect, then for crying out loud, stap deal wid dem nuh? Weh yuh a hem an' haw 'bout eeeh? Yuh clearly know weh a gwaan. So unless yuh waan fi get played, step outa di situation nuh? Gorsh!

5. Yes, come to Jamaica, make friends, have a good time, but please, get to know people before you get deeply mixed up with them. It's just common sense.

shalom/peace my brotha,

I am new to da site and still feelin my way through...there is a wealth of knowledge here in terms of the culture period. This was a great post and very elequoently spoken....just by viewing this site and reading some of the posts it just amazes me as to how we think of foreigners in this aspect Jamaican (men/women) and what they are out to do as if it is some new game; when the scripture states that there is nothing new under the sun. American men are no different from Jamaican some of them they play games too and out for just what they can get. Men and women alike sometimes play games and/or have ulterior motives when seeking out relationships etc it is just a human character deficiency.

Re: **Having problems with/doubts/concerns about/questions about a Jamaican? Read Her

I have been in a relationship with a Jamaican man for over a year. He currently lives there. I am white and live in Canada. Whenever I mention him people say one of 3 things.
1 - He wants your money
2 - He wants a visa
3 - He will cheat on you cause all Jamaicans do

And this is without them knowing anything about him, just the fact that he is in Jamaica.

I would like to say that he has NEVER asked me for money and I trust him 100%. He is the sweetest, kindest man I have ever met and I am fed up with defending my relationship. For anyone else that faces this, don't believe the sterotypes. Only you truly know your partner and other people can say what they want.
NEVER judge someone based on colour, background, race, age etc.

So true. Never to judge a man by his colour, background or race because every man was made differently. Plus its ur relationship u must can sence what ur man is really up to.

You are absolutely right! I was gonna start a thread about this the other day. Where to start...yah my babez he from Ja..sho nuff! We met thru a mutual associate( actually she was a camp ho, trying to get with him...and lied to me to get to the "party" they was having cuz she ain't have no car) Anyways we hit it off instantly, he and I and been together ever since. Back to topic.. I got this homegirl...she a rican not that it matters. but she is loud and boisterous...and she speak ill of the Ja breddren out at the camps (ignant gyal). So i notice her looking down her nose at my ppls like she betta than dem...mind you her and her boo been homeless for 9 mnths now...staying place to place and even on occassion come crash my buildin fi sleepn. I see the look in her eyes cuz she always watchin me n my babez...she come try tell me that he is just using you to get a greencard gurl! After she claim her boo half Ja... anyti ways...she done burned all her bridges and now have NO where fi lay her head...she stalked me down to my mothers buildn to hang out cuz she has no where else she can go. She come ask if she can take showers at my house. Mi say cool no problem, cause i don't like to kick folks when they down...that karma thing...then she keep comin roun try to say she leave her bag at my house. Not thinking i give her my key so she can collect whatever it was she left behind. Do you know the heffa go get in my truck and drive all the gas out...Wahhh...not only that she come back 2 hours later and give me my keys. I never looked at them i just took them...When me and the kids went to leave my mothers she hopped up and took off. So me and my kids went to see my babez. You know when i finally made it back home at about 11 pm. i seen all my lights on...i started trippin...my youngest dada was like mommy we turned off the lights this morning b4 we left. That girl in our house! Sho nuff my little one was right. I was looking for my door key to unlock the door... and this biotch done slipped it off and was up in my house, (and had the nerve to have her boyfriend with her )with the air conditioner and the heat runnin and all the lights on....Opened up a can ofon that ass! So yeah, Americans are worse when it come to using people...my babez treats me with respect and consideration, communication, honesty and loyalty....common sense people. You should know when someone trying to do you dirty...don't be stupid!!!!! One love.....

Honestly I probably would have never let her near my house... but then I am just like that... if it was just me... maybe... but I trust no one around my daughter.
