I hear you Chyna! I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO miss my Jamaican man. And I won't see him for another 4 months! All we can do is hang on the phone and remember the times when we are together. But my phone bill for one month is $1000!!!!! If I would stop spending money on the damn phone I could go more often but we can't tear ourselves apart long enough to not phone every day! I'm moving down there for good next year.

Don't they sell phone cards in Canada? Over here I buy a phone card whenever I can to call JA other wise the phone bill would be sky high. I am so happy to hear you will be going over there 4 good! Lucky 4 some! I wish that I was over there! About Jamaican guys, some people seem to have this view that all of them love to cheat etc which is not true and I've been seeing alot of ladies in this forum saying they have a great Jamaican guy and I hope this may change their attitudes! But still I am really happy 4 U JamCan and I really do wish you all the best. Have fun!

Yes we have phone cards and I do use those but there are times when the card cuts off and we still want to talk into the night. I know....we're stupid! I agree with you, not all Jamaican men are the same. I find the ones here in Canada are worse than true Jamaicans because they came here and got corrupted somehow! I find Jamaicans in general just beautiful people to be around.....the men and the women. Its a wonderful culture.

You wrote back fast! I only just wrote! I guess you are online, I'm loving this! I feel what your saying I absolutely hate it when the card cuts off!!! Yes you get some REALLY great people in JA but I have bucked up on a few who are really nasty but to me the good points out-weigh the bad and which is why I will head back again and again 4 my friends, family and especially my BF .One thing I like about JA is no matter who you are you can be popular if you make the effort to find friends. I was really popular at school, I had alot of frenz in grades higher and lower than me and alot in the communities where I've lived too. It's not like in these countries where if you don't have the looks of a model you can't be popular. I hope once you move to sweet sweet Jam Dung 4 good you will still write to this forum. Peace out!

Oh not to worry...I will keep checking into this forum. I like talking with people that have similar interests in Jamaica. It makes me feel not so far away from there and other people know what I'm talking about.
I agree with you when you say its not hard to be popular in JA. Especially with me being white and hanging out in towns where white people don't normally go. I stay in Sav La Mar where my man lives. The cutest thing is the children that walk down the street and just stand there smiling at me because they've never seen a white girl in their neighborhood! I love them! I think if you show proper respect to the people in their own country they give you respect back and that's what its all about. I can't wait to take my son down there in January and introduce him to the lifestyle.

Yes, it is nice 4 real to have people to talk to,it does make me feel that much closer to "home". I have been to Sav once, I went with my family, we were buying back to school stuff. Have you ever been to Lucea? I lived in Elgin Town right near Lucea. First I lived in Askenish then Greenland then Elgin Town for 4 years. On Christmas Eve night they have lots of big dances in Sav, Lucea and MoBay (your surrounding areas) so you might enjoy going! Write soon!

I've driven through Lucea a few times but we never stopped. The places I've actually been to are MoBay, Falmouth, St Elizabeth, Sav, and have spent LOTS of time in Negril. My man works in Negril and I LOVE it there. I have lots of friends there too, some work at Ricks Cafe, some work at Sun Beach and Point Village.

I have been to Negril only a few times and I wasn't old enough to really DO anything, but where I lived in Elgin Town some of my friends worked at Sandals. I have not been to Falmoth or St. Elizabeth, I have been to Kingston, Ochi, MoBay, St. Mary, and of course lot's of places in Hanover: Lucea, Elgin Town, Johnson Town, Askenish, Esher, Greenland, Dias, Middlesex and Green Island. Another time when I went to Sav I went to Manings High, do you know there? Or am I mistaken and it's not in Sav? I'm sure it is, it was for some debating thing and I've been to Green Island High because alot of my old classmates, my old best friend and my dearest cousin went/go there. Have you seen any of the High Schools? At my high school sometimes this paster called Father Paul used to come and preach at devotion once in a while. He was white and came from......Manchester or something like that, in England and the kids loved hearing him speak, "Him talk sweet eeeh?" And when white people would come down from America and put on little shows and play music and stuff for devotion. I remember when I was going to Askenish All Age School, and some Good Samaritans sent down some boxes with stuff like sweets, toys, toothpaste etc and I kind of find it funny how they consider Jamaica a third world country because most of us didn't need it though we took it anyway! Some kids did need it though. Most Jamaicans aren't really poor at all and when you go to foreign they show you Jamaicans as really poor and when you go there they have high fi's, tvs etc and dress even better than some foreign people do! Don't you agree? Yet when I first went there I thought everyone would be poor.

Well, although mi rate Jamaican man dem as de best, I had to tek a rest. Seen? In other words, mi get tired of di bun business(translation for non Patois speakers: I was sick of the cheating). Don't get me wrong, I know that ANYONE can cheat, regardless of their ethnicity, but I decided to try something new and I'm very happy with my Anguillian man now! Love is truly where you find it, no matter what it looks like or where it comes from. Holla back.
