OK, many have had promises made to them in jest or jokingly that either were never meant to be kept, or were really sincere, but for whatever reason, were never fulfilled. Some of these promises might have stretched from the fairy-tale romantic to the outlandish and bizarre.
Also, some of us during stress, dire circumstances or a desire to convince another, have been guilty of same.
What are some promises that were made to you by others and never came to fruition?
Did you believe them when they were made?
Which ones did you make to others?

At the height of my separation from my ex, I promised God that if he made us reunite, I would become a Christian immediately after, and never cheat again.
I lied, and he knew it.

I was once promised "something" by a particular "organization", if I did their dirty work.
They lied and I had to join the line, suffer and struggle like the others to get my own.

I cannot remember right off da bat now. I have to think about that and come back. Wait hold up my marriage vows to my ex...you know the till death do us part portion....Yeah. I almost caught a charge myself dealing with him.

Oh yes I did. My mom saw that I was truly in love with him; yet she saw that he was not there with me...mind you she tell me this after the divorce...LOL!!!

My father was infamous at making promises that he never kept... Promises mean a lot to me, altho my BF, or ex, is the same way..

Awe man, then he would make excuses like, "Well, if you had stayed home instead of spending the night at ur friend's house, then we coulda..." That sh*t used to piss me off so bad, i knew that he was lying but what could i say...and sadly, ass*ole does the same thing

Well, i know in my case its true, my husband, tho he was nothing like my dad when i first met him, was slowly turning into him  ...down to the musky smell when he came home from work...once i found tissues in the bed, I was like, "Oh hell no, i did not marry Sonny! U are getting out of hand now!" lol Now i know why it took him so long to accept my BF, he's just like his ass!

I have heard this as well. Although I did not grow up with mine..don't even know who he is...heck even my momma not sure...told ya she wild. I believe it has some truth to it. You know daddy's little princess and all. Her protector, her provider, her comforter....aight back to topic
