LOL well if you really don't know ....here is an example Mr. Self Centered......Some one grows up in the mean streets of Kingston.....amongst the fighting and gunmen......he finds his way out of that life...and now goes back regularly to use his influence on the youngsters who look up to him in that same neighborhood to show them a better way.....teaching them how to survive with out being a criminal.....
I strongly resent the self centered statement. But to address the ill-defined insinuation... There are many an individual I KNOW (ok, a few) who have risen out of the ashes of their urban life and who have for many years done the following:
1. Contribute time, resources and money in the collection, refurbishing and shipping of computer equipment to urban schools and community centers. 2. Collected and distributed thousands of dollars worth of school and technical books to schools and training centers in the urban and suburban areas of Jamaica. 3. Sponsor recruitment, outfit, equipment and overseas travel expenses to a particular marching band who hails from one of kingston's most notorious areas. 4. Provide uniforms and camping equipment to units of jamaicas cadet force (a high school based, army-affiliated leadership corp for teens). 5. Through a well-known local sprting goods distributor, sponsors many urban sports leagues by way of soccer, cricket and table tennis gears and clothing. 6. Provide overseas technical support for many IT and telecommunication related issues. 7. Assisted many youths in recommendations and references in getting accepted in many local organizations that would have been otherwise difficult or impossible simply because of their stated addresses.
There are many who have managed to (and still are) raising money and otherwise giving back to their communities without plastering their pictures and names on front page or otherwise "bigging up" themselves.
Anonymity for many of us... is bliss.

i love a woman who is just sooo sensitive to the needs as well as the deficiencies in a man and is not afraid to restore his faith and confidence in her, when his attitude goes South.
BTW: While one's social conscience can lead them to do as you described, thats not what it means.
