Censorship is what the Nazis practiced in Germany during the 1940s, what the segregationists practiced in the Southern USA during the age of Jim Crow, and what the whites practiced in apartheid South Africa. No! Censorship is what kept black people in chains for hundreds of years! The only way to stop racial hatred is by having an open discussion about it.
LOL she meant she wants me to close this thread. Don't get all heated.
Anyways James, you said that in order for racism to end we need to confront it and such. Well lots of people before you and lots of people after you will try this to no avail. Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, etc.....and there is still racism. BUT they made their impact in a non-confrontational way. So why are you so opposed to standing down and actually getting to know some of the Jamaicans on this site rather than getting everyone's back up INSTANTLY with a thread like this??
You are doing the same thing and calling it TRIBALISM....
First, I described the Hutu-Tutsi conflict as an internecine, even tribal conflict in Africa. Second, as I said before, I am not saying that ALL Jamaicans are racist, however I would have to agree that Jamaican society does institutionalize anti-black racism to a certain extent. In addition, many Jamaicans are hostile to black people and do display quite a bit of black self-hatred.
.......and yet I've always wondered why a lot of Africans I come in contact with try to act Caribbean. It has always been something I found intriguing. They've even gone as far as to tell me they're from Kingston LOL. WHY?????

Well, racism is neither created nor destroyed, but always comes back as something different... So yes, there will always be racism as long as people continually divide humanity up in terms of races and ethnicities and nationalities. One way of confronting racism may not be suitable for dealing with another form of racism. Sometimes confronting the person who is spreading racial hatred is the only way to stop racism.
Toussaint L'Ouverture confronted racism aggressively and he ended up establishing the first independent black republic in the Western Hemisphere.

They don't try to act Caribbean babe - they try to say they are JAMAICAN.....
You can choose to ignore my posts.
Just like how I choose to ignore 99.9% of yours.
very immature actually to say so. I also stated that I dissagree and I also find it offensive BUT I choose to keep it on a mature level. Instead of saying go to hell.. Which I think is a personal attack
So.. eventhough we do NOT agree with him at all.. which I dont EITHER the word Hell freaked me out because to me only one person condems us to going to hell and thats ourselves.
I wonder what the reason is for this thread not being deleted if it is so offensive.

Well what other action would you have taken other then deleting it?
Spank James on his batty?
So if you knew the first post was offensive then why didnt you presume and TAKE action?

I find it strange that anybody would want to act Jamaican to begin with. They are obviously joking.
Okay seriously James.....I thought we were actually making some progress here, in understanding each other. I don't know one person on here who's gonna see the humor in that so I think now this thread has worn itself out.
