Interestingly enough, people of Jamaican heritage are also discriminated against by Jamaicans. Apparently, just being born in Jamaica or being of Jamaican heritage is not enough to be considered Jamaican. You have to live in Jamaica for a minimum of 20 years and have a full-blown Jamaican accent. Jamaicans are so narrowminded and intolerant! Not only do they mistreat blacks, but they abuse and degrade many of their own people as well!
I think people of African descent should boycott Jamaica. We should stop visiting and sending our money to Jamaica until they learn how to treat black people with respect and dignity. If I were a Jamaican, I would be ashamed of myself.
Well you know James it seems like youve had a bad experience at the hands of Jamaicans and are angry. Its just a shame you came in head first and didnt get to know people before posting something so controversial. As a result your message will probably be largely ignored or dismissed rather than respected. However, stick around if you like so we can get to know you and we can continue the discussion. Theres nothing wrong with controversy.

Oh go to hell.
You are talking out of your arse. So just because you have had a bad experience that means that EVERYONE is like that. I have never heard such godswollop in all my 41 years of living on this earth.
And a post in here inspired me to correct myself. Okay racism wasn't BORN in the USA but it sure as HELL lingers on and on and on and on and on and on there. Even some white people aren't safe in the USA if they're seen with black people. So........ s:confused

Did u know that in certain places in Africa you can not be seen with a white person?
Do some research before you make statements like that. Because the same thing happens in Canada and in the rest of the world. It is everywhere! To make a statement like that you are no less generalizing as James Walker is, Yet you all are grilling him!

Another thing that could be brought up in support of the fact that black on black racism or hatred didn't begin with and doesn't only exist in Jamaica. What about the Hutu-Tutsi conflict right in AFRICA James???????
Soooo all this substantiated mistreatment of blacks in Jamaica.....how is that any different than the birthplace of racism.....right in the good old USA??
OH and I don't know too many Africans that like Jamaicans either.
Actually, white racism was actually formulated ideologically by a white Jamaican planter named Edward Long who wrote a book titled The History of Jamaica. This was the first book ever to be written advocating white supremacy and black inferiority. According to his wiki bio:
Long argues that American Negroes are characterised by the same “bestial manners, stupidity and vices which debase their brethren” in Africa. This race of people is distinguishable from the rest of mankind in that they embody “every species of inherent turpitude” and imperfection that can be found dispersed among all other races of men. Unlike the most “abandoned villain” to be found in civilisation, these peoples have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. He echoes Hume and Kant and finds it astonishing that despite being subject to colonisation and integration into European society for hundreds of years, the Negroes have failed to demonstrate any appreciation for the arts or any inventive ability. He observes that throughout the entirety of Africa, there are few natives who “comprehend anything of mechanic arts or manufacture”, and those who do, perform their work in the manner of some under-evolved ape.
So although slavery began in the New World under the aegis of Spanish and Portuguese colonization, the ideology of white supremacy was actually first formulated by generations of Jamaican planters and slaveowners. Jamaica is really the source of the ideological underpinnings of white racism. In addition, much of the deep South in the USA was also settled by Jamaican planters and their slaves. Maybe you should read about the history of the African diaspora, instead of spreading Jamaican anti-black hatred.
I think most people of African descent avoid Jamaicans because they are racially intolerant towards black people and culture.
And GG we can google ANY country and find this same stuff. I just found some on Aruba too. But none of us boldly came on here and made blanket statements like James has.
If this were a Canadian forum I'm sure we could argue racism in Canada. I KNOW it exists here, I live here. But I don't run around making mean threads about it cuz we're not ALL like that.

And eventhough we may not agree with the things people say.. "Go to hell" is VERY inappropriate to say to a person.
I can't believe what I am seeing here in this thread. I dont agree with sum of his posts either however telling smaddy to go to hell?
And to ask on the first page if we all agree to delete it then it will be? Wouldnt it be better if we were ALL mods then?
Racism is sumthing we ALL deal with, wether we are black, white or mixed. It should be able to be discussed. I agree on James's approach to be very aggressive and not too smart to do it on a Jamaican forum but I am sure he just wanted the opinion of a JAMAICAN. If the post wasnt agreed on in the first place it should have been deleted right away.

Ummm I said that because regardless of what anyone thinks, the first post IS OFFENSIVE to Jamaicans!! I simply stated that if anyone IS OFFENDED by this thread to let me know. Which part said anything about deleting it??

The Hutu-Tutsi conflict is an ongoing tribal conflict and finds its origins in the Belgian colonization of central Africa. As a matter of fact, before the arrival of the Belgians, the Hutu and Tutsi actually lived in peace with one another for hundreds of years. It was the Belgian introduction of white supremacy in the form of the so-called Hamitic hypothesis and the preferential treatment given by the European colonizers to the lighter-skinned, more Caucasian-looking Tutsis, as opposed to the Hutus, that is ultimately responsible for much of the tribal rivalry within that region of the continent. However, only Jamaicans display a generalized hatred towards all blacks, regardless of where they come from, whereas the Tutsis and Hutus are fighting amongst themselves, NOT against other blacks. In short:
