Being happy or pretending to be happy
If I asked for a defintion of the word "Happiness" I would probably get 5 to 10 different defintions per person.

The answers would run the gamut from the philosophical to the sublime. We would talk about things that if we had, do and (in some cases) rid ourselves of, that we think, would make us happy.Then when the dust has settled we would all somehow agree that happiness is a state of mind and it comes from within.
Since we all (presumably) agree that Happiness comes from within then...

Why aren't we ALL happy?
And even when we become sad, why can't we just recognize that since it's just a state of mind, assume this state of mind and move on?

Why is everlasting happiness, so elusive?

I have been very unhappy and sad lately and I have no fear of admitting.. Happiness is so important and I was very happy today, but then when the sun goes down I go totally emo

I don't know from happy. Happy is tough for me cuz the flipside usually involves drama. Right now I feel mostly satisfied...family's healthy and safe...same for my darling BF (who right now is frankly a PITA but I still love him). I make a good living. I can't complain. But happy? At my age, I'm cool with satisfied and content.

This is common. We call it "sundowning" in nursing, when elderly patients get restless and agitated. GG, no, you are not elderly (that I sense anyway).
This also happens to younger people. A combo of an ending, expectations for the day not met, a slowing metabolism, hormonal changes, etc.

Just get a good noght's sleep and you will have a new day.
