My love interest of Ja background (remember I'm on this site) got out of work last nite about midnight (he is an hour away) called me and we talked about everything under the sun from 1AM til 5 AM. Yes, he is a man who doesn't mind talking on phone, a little unusual. We were talking about old relationships, marriage etc. He jokingly said "Will you marry me?" We are in the FRIENDSHIP stage which is fine for me. Always went into past relationships too quickly. He has never been to my part of the state and would like to drive to my house to check out the countryside. (I guess) He (known him at work since March) has always been very polite and a gentleman to me. Sooooooo, so far so good???????

Talking with him the race factor NEVER entered my mind. I don't care. He is a wonderful man, so far and that's what matters. The only time I thought of it is when HE brought it up and it what he said made me very sad. When he went to look at condos to buy, he was aware of vehicles with confederate flags (please, no offense to any southerners, just what he SAID) in the parking lot, apparently was a concern to him. He did buy the condo, though and didn't mention any trouble. He also jokingly (but not really) said, when I come to your house (a white community) hope I don't get lynched. Oh, did this bother me!!! I'm thinking about this wonderful man who lives a life where he has to constantly be aware of of bigotry. Made me very sad and angry!!!!

My guess is you offered to cook some food for him. Men can be so weak.

Samba, No, no offer of food YET. I did mention that I am an ironing expert - something taught by my Swedish grandmother (apparently important to Swedes). He then said and this is true, that he had a pile of scrubs that needed ironing and I would be welcome to come to his place anytime to do the job. But, believe me, when the time comes to invite him over for dinner, he will be a happy man at the dinner table!

Thinking..................'i just know she's gonna spike the food'
