I know my situation is I never used to hang around anyone with kids cus mine was grown. Now that I am a Mom to an infant again I hang around with people with the same interests/situation. People and their circumstances change and ya gotta gravitate to whatever makes you happy!!!

I'm realizing that someone I've known for 12 years and have been friends with for about five is probably one of those who's not gonna last more than a season. She's found a new best friend that she has more in common with and so over the course of the past year and a half she's started treating me like I'm her second choice of person to hang with.

If her friend goes on vacation or something I'll hear from her a lot, wanting to go out for dinner, movies whatever, but when her friend's in town I'm an afterthought. Rarely included or invited to do things. It's too bad, but there's nothing I can do about it but accept it and hopefully make new friends who appreciate me more..............

She kind of snapped at me this morning cuz I was going to go to church with her but I've got a cold and feel lousy so I decided not to go. "Oh, so you're copping out huh?" was her response when I told her. Nice..............

<update> So my friend just called and actually apologized for being snappy earlier and invited me to lunch. Gotta say, I'm surprised. I'm glad she called, and also glad I didn't snap back at her at the time cuz things were running through my mind......... I always try to give my friends the benefit of the doubt, I know that people don't always handle changes in plans well, guess this was one of those occasions........... Guess there's still hope for this friendship after all.
