Re: The softer side of things...

I've been hurt way too many times from relationships, helping people, friends, etc to open up....I used to give 100% trust first, give the benifit of a doubt, and allow for the individual to prove they are a good person. Didn't work like that way. So now that i've learned nice guys finish last, I give 50% trust, I don't give the benifit of the doubt so much, and have resorted into confiding to my journal and not people.

I've learned in today's world a person's word really don't mean anything until the actions are consistent with them. People are so double standard. They do nasty things to a person but the second you return the favor, they are the victim, can never admit to any intial wrong doing, and fail to be accountable for what wrong doings they have done.

I can totally appreciate your honesty UTG. I have been the exact same way most of my life and people just prove themselves to be the jerks they really are.

There are only a handful of people I'd trust with my life/heart/soul......99% of them are female 1% man.

When you start posting 50% of half a man, I will be worried!

Re: The softer side of things...

I am terribly closed off in relationships. I have always had trouble trusting others with my emotions. I thought if I showed my softer side they'd take advantage of me. But the other part of that is I've never been with anyone who cared enough to say "you don't have to be so tough all the time", until now. My current bf immediately saw through my tough-girl act. That doesn't mean I'm not tough - let's not get carried away here! - but this is the first time I don't feel like I have to be strong all the time. Hopefully it will last!
