I tend to be very hard hearted and have extreme difficulty opening up to people, if i even remotely think you have the possibility of hurting me, i send you packing before i allow you to hurt me. I believe this comes from being in a long, sometimes abusive and chaotic relationship with my sons father for 10 years. He pretty much messed it up for everyone else...LOL, maybe it is me b but dealing with american men, it seems as if dating and getting to know someone is a game, " you cant let them know you like them, or you'll scare them off, you have to act as if your ok with the casualness of whatever they bring, or they think your clingy, I have found with damn near most men, that there alot of mind games played when you first meet and start dating. Now my fiancee in JA, makes me want to be an open book, he seems to have no filters and pretty much says and tells me whatever is on his mind. I have never experienced that with a man, so it is kind of new to me. Normally, i am the ice princess, but i feel like i have to be.

The thought of never loving again hurts way worse than the thought of loving and losing . . . .

If you never open yourself up to the possibility of the hurt again, you are going to be a very lonely person, JC. Every single person you come in contact with has the possibility of hurting you, some more then others.

I'm an eternal optimist.....I always think the good will outweigh the bad in my life. There are people who have come and gone. With each, I've loved and learned from them. Today, I am the person I am because of all of them. In retrospect, it's a very good thing. I could've done without a few. There are some I could not have done without.

You have to continue to grow and take those chances. Just take it slow.
