how did your parents talk to you about the birds and the bees????????
My Mom comes from the OLD SCHOOL, very conservative/taditional! So we never had the BIRDS AND THE BEES talk. I remember once while watching LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE, Nelly Olsen was teasing Laura about having a crush on some boy, Nelly used the word "hanky panky". My Mother turned to me and asked in a stern voice....."yu noh wat hanky panky is?" I didn't know if this was a trick question for me to get a beatin, but I answered "YES!" then she said......"GOOD!!" and that folks was our BIRDS and the BEES talk!!!!

How was it for the rest of you??????
Re: how did your parents talk to you about the birds and the bees????????
She never talked, she just said and did stuff indirectly.
I mostly read books upon books that she bought for me. And eventually had to find out for myself.
She would also be really upset with my older sisters about them having babies out of wedlock. So I took heed, every single day, week, month, year. I wasn't even allowed to have a boyfriend, yet. She laid down the rules: "get your education first and then think of having babies in marriage. When you move out and live on your own, then you can think bout boyfrien"
So I'm still taking heed to what she says. I wish though she had just told me straight up like I liked it, but I understand how she grow up and how she conveyed 'the birds and the bees' to me.

My parents are pretty liberal! They made me call stuff by it's proper name, and they explained pretty early on what happens when you have sex. My mom especially she isn't one to beat around the bush about much!
Re: how did your parents talk to you about the birds and the bees????????
They didn't. I asked my mom for that book, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask just as a joke (or so I thought) when I was in the 7th grade. I came home from school one day and a copy of it was sitting on the kitchen counter.
Re: how did your parents talk to you about the birds and the bees????????
My mom never really did talk to me at all. Hmmmmm....
We had sex education in junior high school, but that's it. On the other hand my son started asking when he was like 6!!!!!!!!! So instead of glossing it all over and making up stories about birds and bees, I told him like it is. Straight....he's a smart kid and could not be fooled.
Re: how did your parents talk to you about the birds and the bees????????
Between "Guidance Class" in High School and reading a WHOLE lot of books an literature on the subject, coupled with a little information from my conservative mom and plenty of warnings about "NOOOOOOOOOSEX till u married and have u edicatshan"
So much for that philosophy
Re: how did your parents talk to you about the birds and the bees????????
Well for me, my family always talked to me as an adult. I never had any of the baby talk. So my dad talked to me the first time when I was 2 years old. He told me the names of everything, the differences between men and women and how babies were made. And as I got older he added more to the discussions. We had the sex talk pretty much every other time we talked LOL. That's probably why I just lost my virginity at 27!
Re: how did your parents talk to you about the birds and the bees????????
I remember the day my mom tried to give me 'the talk'. She took me to my favorite burger spot in New Ro called Michael's. I was in the 7th grade, I tihnk, and I had no clue what was going to happen. I knew she was acting a bit weird, but I thought nothing of it. Then she started......
Mom: Umm... you know that you're getting older, right?
Me: Umm... yeah, every day
Mom: Well, you heard... ummmm..... errrrr....... about sex, right?
Me: (Stomach flips, penis retreats to stomach, head starts spinning) Umm, mom, I'm just not ready for that kind of stuff (BIG LIE)
Mom: OH GOOD! Well, wha yu waan fi eat den??
Me: The usual
That was my talk. She was VERY uncomfortable as was I. I look back and laugh, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.....
