Re: That was the most Romantic evening I have ever spent!
Christmas Day, 2005. Jomo cooked dinner (with a little help from his middle sister) at his house while I napped. I awoke to a request to blindfold. I was led down to the back of his yard, along the shoreline, to a picnic table covered in a cloth. He had lit candles, picked fresh flowers, and had a dinner of ackee & saltfish, callaloo, some boiled yam. We ate under the stars and later stolled on the beach and went for a late night swim. When we came back, we had some grapenut ice cream. It was a perfect evening.

Re: That was the most Romantic evening I have ever spent!
I have to say that my life is one great big romance these days!! There are so many things to choose from!! So many events that stick out in my mind... and most of them last the whole day - not just an evening.
Once, we had the day to ourself - my daughter was staying over at a friends straight from school and neither of us was working. It was a really hot day and we didn't want to stay in the house, so in the early afternoon, we went and bought a bottle of wine and some snacks. We walked to the park, and sat in the shade of a weeping willow whose leaves were still at least four (4) feet from the ground - we were hidden without being hidden. We listened to music on his MP3 player while he taught me to play backgammon... the conversation and the wine flowed gently. After a few hours (and a 6/2 thrashing!!! ) we went back home to change and went out to dinner a a really nice Shish Restaurant not far from home.... he educated my palette with some Turkish food I hadn't tried and I educated his with a variety of wine. When we finished the meal, we came home, ran a bath lit candles and played soft music. It was fun trying to get the both of us to squeeze into the tub - and I ended up plug end!!! And still the conversation flowed... we reminisced on recent shared events and planned future ones. After calling my daughter to wish her good night we too retired ....there was nothing more needed that night but to hold each other - and we did....
