Thanks Miss B......and for the record I do have issue with some people on this site over issues of race as is no secret due to our open on line exchanges, but it's minor in the grand scheme of things, being popular on this forum is no where near as important to me as being true to myself.......thanks for your support hun

You are welcome. Have the folks that you DO take issue with been told explicitly...what your issue is and why you have it?

You get my point. Everyone has their fair share of adversity to deal with on a daily basis. So this ONE single topic....racism....is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what people have to live with every day.
We should ALL be proud that we CAN big up ourselves in spite of it all, no matter what we suffer daily. You can bet that little nerdy kid who gets bullied on the school playground every day probably does NOT have the ability to big up himself. People we need to HELP each other, not fight each other.

Good post....... I agree with most of this JC, as said toooooooo many times, I am all for people being proud of themselves, their heritage, their achievements, I believe that once we know who we are and are proud about ourselves we will not be threatened by what another feels about themselves. The whole issue of racism and oppression stems from the inability to accept and value difference.....in response to racism being the tip of the iceberg for you, I accept that is the case, so I see where you are comming from. Its not the tip of the iceberg for me, it underpins all the areas in my life that you have outlined above.....it is a daily experience.

No people are not born racist
Yes people do learn racism...
No it is not an "illness" in the clasic sense of the term... but it is an epidemic.
