Even HE sees it. I agree with the points you raised above. But to say that you don't SEE a person's skin color and all of the social and political connections to it is just the equivalent of burying your head in the sand, JG.
Keeping it real.........Reputation points for this post Miss B

Who feels it knows it.......in the mean time.......keep minimising and keep laughing...... not just talking to you JG but this was the quote that made me realise that this is some kind of sick game to some of you........for some I expected it but with others i'm dissapointed.......so laugh away!......people are dying on the streets for this inconvenience that we call race......have a good laugh and share as many private jokes as you all need to.

I agree... we should all speak our minds... but perhaps we need to try being a little more selective about when/where/how we choose to do so...

Re: Racism - An illness or a Way of life?

we are all different indeed and that includes in our sense of humour. humour can lift the darkest of moments and darkest of topics. i'll give you a personal example. there was nothing funny about my mother dying of cancer but she/we got through it with laughter.

i think the glib humurous comments in this thread were more directed at the same old 'disagreements' about the same old things NOT the subject of race.

Playing devils advocate does not in any way connotate deceptive or otherwise negative intent. Its intended purpose is usually to provide a skeptical view of a subject matter so as to encourage further review, discussion and or analysis.

Objective reasoning requires not only the ability to lay things out and to strongly highlight points that we so passionately want to uphold, but it also involves the ability to discuss and review subject matters maturely without emotional frustration, mental distortion and personal biases.

If we do not have the time, inclination nor the capacity to reason objectively, then we should so rightfully whip up our rotors and chart a course.

Peace
wow i found something by the great man that i agree with.

I have often thought that, LS. No matter what was rumored to have gone on behind the scenes, I always respected his words in public. I admit I hated him with a passion some days; but, we always made our peace and moved on. I will never stop saying I miss him.
