For What its Worth
It is often said that something possessed, rarely retains the same charm it had in the persuit?
Do you believe that to be true?
Why?

Re: For What its Worth
Ok...I thought about it more .... It's the excitement that disappears...the newness of something. BUT... some will find more charm to things or people, once they have it or are with it. It really depends on what it is and how one truly feels about it. But...initial excitement is always replaced with either something more or something less.

Re: For What its Worth
Sometimes you build up in your mind how great something would be if you just had it. You work really hard to get it. The pursuit of the thing is all you can focus on....put all your energies on. Then, you find out it just wasn't what you thought it would be.
Sometimes I think it is just unhappiness. If I could just afford that vacation.....if I could just take a day off.....if I just bought that house.....

Except for that special relationship, very few things in my life maintains the charm, freshness and newness that it originally had.
I get bored very easily.
As far as relationship goes, I learned the hard way.
A relationship is like a garden. Over time, it gathers all the weeds and foliage of life...unless you nourish, prune and till its soil to enhance growth...as well as to protect it with the pesticides of trust and good communcations.

Re: For What its Worth
I, too, like the analogy, Alex. Very poetic.
