So, my mom begged me to go to the club with her a couple of weeks ago...

And we are laughing and dancing and having a wonderful time...

Well this man comes up and asks me to dance... and I say sure... and we head out to the dance floor...

We dance for a few minutes and he is crowding me a little... like all men do...

but then suddenly he reaches out and grabs my pumpum....

I don't even know this fools name and he just grabs me like he has every dang right...

I slapped the crap out of him and walked off the dance floor.

So tell me... what is the deal with men today?

Why do they feel they can treat a woman like this?

I have, however, seen the way some women dress, dance, and carry on at clubs, and it makes me wonder what kind of message they are sending.

I mean I was out with my momma for goodness sakes.

But I do know what you mean... some of those girls were wearing less than my raciest lingerie.

I think it is the image of women that society presents these days
in many cases the respect that was once upheld for women is gone
alot has to do with some women disrespecting themselves and hence women as a whole are beagn to be looked upon as these women
I have been to the club several and I am never dressed inappropriate and have had guys as I am walking by touch my rear and all
the respect level for us is so low that some of these men out her feel like they can do thinsg like this but also some women thinks that that type of behavior is cute of funny or acceptable--they ruin it for the rest of us

Which is kind of my point......both you and Kennjai are saying things I am thinking.....Just because you (or I or anyone else for that matter) dress respectably, I sometimes wonder if those that don't and carry on as I alluded to above, don't set bad examples for the rest of us. We are kind of guilty by association or proximity.

While that guys behavior may seem inappropriate by any standard, we may have to look a little bit deeper.

I have no reason to think that you Windy, said or did anything that would encourage such acts but...

Is that the "norm" at that particular establishment?
Is that establishment held in any kind of disrepute by the locals?
Was this guy fully cognitive or was he in some way inebriated?

Afterall, it's not common practise in America for a man to openly, "physically assault" a woman as such with no due regard for being arrested and prosecuted.

No it is NOT the norm for that establishment... my mom goes there frequently... it is called "The Hop"... a lot of the older crowd goes there because they play oldies...

The establishment has a good reputation they even have valet parking...

The man did have a drink but he did not sound, smell, or act drunk...

Maybe I should have called the law on his butt...

He did come back and attempt to apologize to me after a while but I told him that no man had a right to treat ANY woman like that without her permition... and asked him if he would act like that around his mother...

He was not a kid either Johnny... he was at least in his late 40s if not older.

It shouldn't accepted as the norm....but somewhere along the way - someone probably gave him mixed signals and led him to believe this behavior was okay.....

It could have been a slap on the a$$ of a woman who turned around and giggled at the mere playfullness......letting him think it's okay.....

Or maybe he had even done that to someone else and she didn't refuse - add that with the combination of alcohol and who knows what he was thinking.....

But I agree with you and the rest of the women - very rude & disrespectful and I would have slapped him as well !!

I simply can't believe this happened. To be honest with you, if it happened to me I would be in shock and have a delayed reaction...then probably knee the dude and say a few choice words.

I can't even answer the general question about men and why they treat woman like this since I haven't had to experience this and it seems foreign to me. It's definately not something I consider common.. but I would have to say that he is lacking some serious manners.

It's been a long time since I was in a club, but if that's the general behavior, I think I'll continue my weekly visits to Blockbuster to rent movies and then watch them at home.
