The purpose of this thread is to bring out in the open, the many racial-related issues that we, as ETJ members have been plauged with, amongst ourselves....Lest we sweep it under the rug once again.
As we all know, often times racial comments are made by a member that seems offensive to members of that particular race and it ends in a flare up.
Like any true relationship, we must often resolve our issues by bringing to light the "hot points" (the likes and dislikes) that creates disharmony amongst us.
Without throwing our emotions in, lets just point out the the things that we of a perticular race don't like to hear our fellow ETJ members say about our own race.
NO FIGHTING, let's just talk.

But there will be fighting because this is an emotive subject. People WILL get hurt by words and its a fact of life...
It is a good subject for discussion if everyone sees its as the open debate it should be and the moderators allow this to be censor-free.

I agree.
But lets see how mature we all are. I am sure that in any relationship ppl has to say "I dont like when you say this or that". Why can't we do same here without getting into a fuss?
Dont you agree?

Is there a point to this?....is it not going to result in the same as all the rest?.....one can only have an open discussion when we are first able to look inward.......do you really feel we are at the place yet for there to be a meaningful discussion on issues of race.....do you think people are able to seperate themselves from the personal likes or dislikes of a particular member long enough to actually HEAR what they are saying?......do you not think there are too many other agendas at play here with the same people time and time again involved in the same conflict that disrupts the harmony of this site? then running else where to laugh about comments made by members on here in response to so called debates.......I personally dont think we are there yet.....sorry I really dont.

because there are alot of personalities on here....and not everybady can argue in a civilized manner...it may start out that way, but we all know how it might end

Co-sign!!!
Also, just because I may not be friends with some people doesn't mean all out war...lol
Like I say, its about respect. Some friendships are fickle and fall by the wayside...whereas respect is earned through honesty and bravery.
You can't like everyone in this world or expect to be liked by everyone. If you do then you are self-deluded.
I believe some issues and topics need passion, need heated debate.
The biggest enemy of the human spirit and freedom is: APAHTY!

If not now, then when?
Are you saying we are too deeply entrenched in our emotional setup that we cant address a matter maturly?
If we had the same issue on our jobs, in our schools or even at home, can't we just say "I dont like when you say..." without turning it into a quarrel?????
If not, then we are all frauds here!!!!!!
Well, let me be the idiot and start it rolling.....
I personally dont like when (some) White Women talk about going to Jamaica and hooking up with some Jamiacan men, as if to say that they (the men) are hanging out in Jamaica with their lives on hold, just waiting for them to come down and fall in love.
I dont like that.
Will someone talk to me about it or get upset? if not, I'll just turn this into a monologue.

but on the other hand you have jamaican men that are WANTING to hook up with such 'white' women....they see it as opportunity....to come to 'farin'. So you might not like it....but you have some jamaican men PRAYIN to hook up with a white woman. And i wouldn't say that it's like they are 'wating' for them to come down, but as I said before, they see it as an opportunity.
I dont like when said White women give the impression that these men are so naive and overwhelmed by them that they will just drop their Jamaican women, desert their former lives and just runaway with them.
It bothers me when they believe that after they leave, they make such an impression that these guys will spend all their time ignoring everyone around them and just pine away for them.
It makes me feel like they think that Jamaican men have little or no brains.

Hey, you are entitled to your opinion, and like I say I respect u for that but just get ready to be banned when you cut too close to the ETJ bone.
Sometimes telling it as it is ...is the LAST thing some people want to hear.
Its the decision YOU have to make.
The only thing you have to be sure about is NOT BE GENERAL..or make sweeping statements. IMHO.

Oh, Mrs groovy, most ppl here know that I know that only too well. And there is nothing wrong with that. But what bothers me is when they believ that they will come here, get their papers and "throw stone behind them".
Some refuse to believ that they want the papers but they will not desert their own back home.

I think you know exactly what I am saying........and yes certainly I come to a point in work situations where I do get tired of hitting my head against a brick wall and therfore direct my energies where I believe they will be most productive.......I am also one who looks at the evidence base.....which on here I think speaks for itself..does it not?......I dont need to prove to anyone who I am or what I stand for so If you consider me to be a fraud based on my opinion to a subject then you are entitled to your opinion.....I know who I am and the standards that make me the woman that I am today, so I have nothing to prove to anyone.....I dont believe that being involved or not as the case may be in this debate AT THIS TIME......is any reflection on my character.
