Hey, you are entitled to your opinion, and like I say I respect u for that but just get ready to be banned when you cut too close to the ETJ bone.
Sometimes telling it as it is ...is the LAST thing some people want to hear.
Its the decision YOU have to make.
The only thing you have to be sure about is NOT BE GENERAL..or make sweeping statements. IMHO.
Not here to spread hate, buddy. It's not my intent to cause aby flare up.
My reason here is simple....Many of us on ETJ are not really interested in racial harmony. But rather, we sit on our proverbial high perch like vultures just waiting for the carcass of a racial connotation to be dropped so tha we can attack it. Many of us often cry racism by other ETJ members but our selves are making racial slurs in the very explanation.
The point of condemning this dialogue is akin to saying that we can never reslve our differences so lets forget about it.
Is that what we teach our kids? Do we not try to find ways of resolving issues in our real lives? Must we continue to "pretend" to be on teh same page in one thread, only to come out blasing in another when ever one steps over the racial line?
So what, lets go back to our sides of the line and start shooting again....Is that it?

If i have to say it here or in a hundred thread on a thousand sites... I am not rying to spread hatred or racial tension.
I would like individuals to simply say that what they find offensive by other members. If we can all come to realise what offends, then hoepfully we wont say them. If we are saying that it a hopeless case, then lets all forget it, and not talk at all, 'cause if its not today its gonna be tomorrow; but someone wil say something racially offensive and then claim not to be aware of it.
Thats all.
So to continue....

Everybody thinks but not everyone talks Alex. If you want total honesty..then that is not the Human way. Well not since man learned to talk.
If you want my honesty for in a single posts about ETJ... well..
I was upset how a site about Jamaica turned into an inter-racial dating/hook up site instead of focusing on the beauty/love/essence of Jamaica by the people in charge of this site. I was shocked how so many good, decent, old members fled the scene when the direction of the site seemed to drift instead of fighting to keep ETJ in its orginal form.
How's that Alex???.....is that real enough for you?
Many people have these thoughts but don't air their inner views for different reasons.
I Believe that A Black Man or Woman should be free to have a meaningful relationship with A woman of any other color without being criticized by his own kind.
Often times, we say "i dont have a problem with interracial relationships", but yet couple lines further down, our very words betrays us.
We should respect the fact that there ARE people here on ETJ who are not just "involved" with another race but are actually MARRIED. That (I believe) should be respected for what it is.
At the same time, there are ppl here who dont believe that one race should be allowed to "raise" kids of another race. That opinion, as well, should be respected. there are relevant reasons for having that opinion.
My personal problem in all this:
1. When the Black man (in Jamaica) in particular is seen as some idiot with no brain who just wants a visa and nothing more.
2. A member of ETJ making another member feel that, based on their race, they are not worthy to be with someone of another race.
3. When certain subtle points are "dropped" to make any Black man who's involved with a White woman (for example) feels guilty of deserting his own race.
Those are MY issues. I am not upset with anyone. And if others find this offensive and are willing to respond as such, then we can talk. If not, then so be it.
I love you all.

Now you have mine.
Yes Iyah! Mi agree wid dat!
An mi is as guilty as anny one else...
But I will tell you why that happened... First of all we had some ppl in the past spending too muchtime talking about what they did in bed last night and how goo dit was. Then the conversation went to all manner of sleeze from who have the longest to the hardest, yadah.yadah.
Some people would talk about things they like about jamaican men, women, food, music, etc. we had several threads about differences and similarities in Ja people, etc.
Then somehow, many of the "foreign' women were paying compliments to the Ja men but simultanesously "dissing" the Ja women. This enraged many of the Black women who viewed this as an attack on all Black women...Hence the divide.
Then idiots like Alex start some stupid thread about being inlove wid smaddy, etc, etc.
From then on, we spend more time talking about good/bad relationships, anal lube and agression towards religion. The rest is history.
Yes, tu raaathid. You right bout dat.

I dont like when said White women give the impression that these men are so naive and overwhelmed by them that they will just drop their Jamaican women, desert their former lives and just runaway with them.
It bothers me when they believe that after they leave, they make such an impression that these guys will spend all their time ignoring everyone around them and just pine away for them.
It makes me feel like they think that Jamaican men have little or no brains.
Well I can only speak for this white woman......my xperience was never about going to hook up, get a man and bring him home too keep, like a freakin souvenier.....I met someone who over time I believed to be sincere, genuine very intelligent. I never thought of him as naive in fact just the opposite, in hind site I was naive. I did not have some belief that he was just waiting to be rescued by me. Never thought he was pining away for me either. He was living his life while I wasnt there as I ws living mine while I was here. I also believe it is possible to have a long distance realtionship and have fidelity if both parties are dedicated. I never intended to have my man leave his family and figet about them..., but people in all cultures do have failed realtionships that they move on from, this is what I was Naivly led to believe was the situation of my man. Yes there are opportunists in Jamaica, as everywhere else in the world. There are also good, genuine, people eveywhere. I will continue as I have always to make my decisions based on each individual and how they interact with me.
