ive been outspoken on this board about 'spanking' kids before but i have to agree with you here that making sure they contribute to the household chores makes a difference. the contrast i see here in the uk from when i live in Ja really annoys me. in the uk doing household chores is an alien concept to kids (the main evidence is the ones in my family) - but thats their parents fault - and you dont need to hit a child to get them to help in the house. if you do thats the parents problem.
