Jah Love...
My name is Stella and I just recently visited Negril Jamaica (where portions of the movie "How Stella Got Her Groove Back", and on my first night there...while walking with my girl to the club "Jungle" we see this guy and ask him how much further..he tells us and says to me later..when he saw us walking up the street towards him...he saw me...we didn't see him as yet...he said he went and told his friends, at the beach bar where he was standing that "he found the one he'd been waiting for". They told him to come to the Jungle but he waited until the next day...found me and we spent all 7 days (the days it took God to create the world - 7 days) and we fell in deep, deep, love.

He wants to marry me...even though I'm older and the story is just too surreal to be true so I looked around for hidden cameras...for I felt it was a set up....Stella..younger guy...Negril...I mean come on!!

But, according to all his friends....Richard (his name but he's known as the "Jamacian Snoop Dog" because he looks just like him....hair and all--TRUST ME!! He told me he has been waiting for the right woman and so does his friends...that he's been alone for the past 5 years and that he is very particular. We are planning to get married on his birthday...March 5th and the problem becomes getting back-affording round trip tickets-the wedding-his ticket back to the states; what is required for him to travel, after we are married; where will we have our honeymoon...and so much more. Right now, I have a $1,200 telephone bill so we can't talk as much to keep our bond of love, plan our wedding.

He can fly a plane and just needs help to get out of the proverty I saw while there. I LOVE THIS MAN BECAUSE HE IS SO GENTLE, POSSESSIVE AND PASSIONATE. WE HAVE YET TO MAKE LOVE...STELLA LOST HER GROOVE..I NEED

Hope it all works out for you, I used to have a phone bill just like that. How long have you guys known each other? What does he do for a living? Have you been back since?

Hate to say it, but it sounds like a typical JA story. Could be real. But, I've heard many of those lines over and over again. I'd take it a whole lot slower then you are. The visa process is long, expensive, and frustrating. You have to make sure it is worth it in the end.

Stella here, trying to respond...thanks for the warm welcome!!! I just stumpled upon this website trying to get information on getting married and bringing my new husband back to America.
I met him in August so I've not known him that long...in JA for 7 days and we talked on the tele every day during September until I got that $1200 bill...now I just listen to his vmail messages, over and over again. He is a very proud man and would not tell half the island of his love and passion for me if he didn't really care...he's assured me of that...saying everyone knows he doesn't play...doesn't have a woman...has been waiting fo rthe right one and the moment he saw me...HE KNEW...HE GETS QUITE HOT JUST SPEAKING WITH ME...AND HE DOESN'T KNOW IF I'm a man or woman because I've never had a condom inside of me...cause I've been waiting fo rthe right one...he is so excited about my purety....he is very germaphobic.....he looks exactly like Snoop Dog...so they all call him the Jamacian Snoop Dog...and TRUST..HE COULD HAVE ANY WOMAN HE WANTS.....he wants me and girlfriend I've got nothing on my plate like most American women. I hate to say it but I agree. I think you need to draw this out a LOT longer. You've only met the guy once! I'm not in a position to say either way but this story is ALL too familiar. Don't let the coincidences pull you in....your name could be Helga and it would have still happened. And if you went to visit the other side of the island it would have still happened.

Just don't get sucked in. Get your phone bill under control, THEN start thinking with a clear head. If you are indeed going to marry this guy you'll need your money in your pocket.

I agree with JC, there is never a need to rush into anything especially marriage.

I met my JA man like you on vacation, not looking for anyone. We were together for 1.5 years before we were married, and I lived in JA for 2 years before we moved.

Oh Lawd.....Mi try not to be to loud here, but dis is a public forum and mi haffi seen too many get hurt from JA! (here we go again ) What you haffi may be as real as it is for many of us...but why rush??? Please..slow down!! Tek ur time cause it will hurt more if u rush and it doesnt work out..then it would if you took ur time! Please be more cautious... Mi ex was all dat wen mi first met him on vacation...but mi learned on di 4th visit how abbusive he could be...Mi woulda never know dat only on the first 2 visits!!! Wah a charmer he was!! So..from experience and from someone that is in another relationship wid anudder JA man....please re-evaluate ur rush!!

i know you can really fall lustily in love or you CAN fall in love since u met and been talking, but marriage.........so quick? one would think you would take time to get to reall know the person and from what your saying you really dont?


1. Do you think you know him long enough to commit the rest of your life?

2. Do you interact with the family members?

3. Dont you think you have a lot more to learn about him, especially since he is in another country? think about this one carefuly.
