Yep. And look what happened.....I didnt' have to do the paperwork.
Wanna know something sad though? What if it worked out in the end after all? Our immigration application would be JACKED UP cuz I deleted and shredded everything. All we have left are pictures. No emails, no ring and diamonds, phone bills, plane tickets, no nothing. Anger is a biatch.

I agree - It is so much harder than everyone thinks it is - Just for an example - one of my best friends is from Scotland and lives here - her parents want to retire here so that they can be close to their grandson, but they can't legally move here, even though they have enough money to support themselves and do so - They live in a country that falls into the VWP, so they can come when they want (supposedly). However, the last time they came, they were told that they would need a visa if they want to come back, because the VWP program is not for long stays, only for visits. If they were to come over and stay illegally - they would probably get away with it. But then they put themselves in the risk of living without health insurance, and physically can't do that.
To immigrate legally to the US is not an easy task, no matter which way you do it.
Even asylum petitions, etc... are horrible to go through - I sat through a green card interview for a 15 year old girl who had been kidnapped from her parents and brought to the US when she was young - and listened to the officer yell at her about entering the US illegally - She was all of FOUR YEARS OLD - Did she have a choice? I sat through another interview where they made a woman describe in GRAPHIC detail the torture that she endured in her country, and then they denied her application for asylum.
Until you have actually sat through the experience, or listened to the zillions of stories of people that have, it's beyond comprehension how difficult the process can be.

FASTER? Again, you need to read up on those who have gone through the journey.
A visitor visa, if they can even get one, can be done in one trip to the embassy on an appointed date. The fiance visa is incredibly long and requires much more paperwork compared to that.

Dang.....this is what they provided....."We are going to emphasize his job, his family (daughter), the house he just built, etc. (hopefully it will be enough). "
It wasn't enough. They make it so complicated.

Re: How do u bring someone from JA over to the States?
JG, you are so right. Visas are incredibly hard to get. They say "you only get one chance at this visa thing. And if you're Jamaican, you ongly get half a chance!"
Not sure who is posting on those "real Caribbean websites," but I'd love to know their secrets. its getting harder every year. The temporary work force visas (summer work in resort towns) were cut back two years ago from 600,000 to 200,000.
