thats an interesting question actually. one - is it actually true that we have a majority of white women here or is that just a perception based on the particular members who post on threads like this? if it IS mostly white women here then why is that so compared to other sites? think most people on here have goolged whatever they are interested in and stumbled upon this site and see it as a social forum rather than a just a caribbean forum.

and most importantly - why does it matter? its a forum dedicated to people with a common interest in jamaica for whatever reasons and whoever they are. people have all sorts of views and perspectives of Jamaica based on their own personal experiences, which gives a balanced view. as you said about reggaediva you didnt know she was white as i didnt know about many members but chatted and debated with them all the same. sometimes on here there seems to be a competition as to who knows jamaica best and who has the best links. theres no need. we all know jamaica in our own way.

Are you so insecure in yourself that you can't believe a man would love you over the visa? Who said that the man that I love is moving here, and not visa versa? I have never said one way or another - As I stated, reality is, if you love someone in another country, one or the other of you has to immigrate at some point - So, my friend from South Africa who married a US Citizen used him to get her greencard (they've been married 10 years and have two kids) - You focus on the greencard factor of it, proving time and time again that you would not be secure enough to believe that a man could love you without that factor - Shutting yourself off from the possibility of finding love because it crosses a border is a pretty sad way to live your life.

what is not surprising is the attitude that you have for black women.. What makes you think theyare "bitter hags" thinking you stealing them man?...i do not think that is the thought of those women....i think the disatain you may be detecting is directed at your attitude toward them and the fact that they KNOW you ar thinking they are "bitter" bout you having your relationship. Trust me, they are not thinkig bout you. AND you have never seen me hon, cuz i got no cause to be bitter or angry cuz my man or any man i have ever dealt with would not be dealing with you.....and any man that yu deal with, i would not......simply put, we would attract very differnt types of men.......................BUT if it makes you feel better thinking that smbody biter at you and yours...do so,

like i said PURE JOKES!!!!!!!!!!
Who said I had an attitude towards black women? I believe I called you a bitter hag - Never directed any comment towards black women. And, my statements are spoken directly from experience and overheard conversations of bitter hags while out in clubs or at a show - Not as a tourist, in the area where I live - Comments to which my Jamaican and Trini girls have ripped the speaker a new one about.

GG, I am not speaking about parties in JA - I am speaking about Caribbean parties in the US - I live in an area that is an hour each way from two of the largest Caribbean communities in the US - It is not unusual on the weekends, if I am out, to find me at a reggae or soca show or a dancehall - my friends own a bar that DJs only reggae or soca -

Wow, that's a pretty harsh generalization. And people wonder why there are stereotypes perpetuated on this website. Poor dumb tourists.

I love to hear this from countries who depend on tourism to sustain or mostly sustain. I'm sure it's true. But, it is not something you read on anything published by any tourist boards.

Re: How do u bring someone from JA over to the States?

I don't post often but when I do I like to think it makes people think

As an outsider looking in I found it's the ones who gets in such a tizzy and huff about this subject because they ARE the ones in relationships with Jamaican men and trying to bring them over here or are in a LDR with them
and when someone voices their opinion (based most times on their own experiences) and it differs then all of those people gang up on them and want to throw out the bitter or jealous word

word to the wise---majority of the time when a white woman is with a black man, it is NOT a black man a black women would even CONSIDER dating (not all now, I said most) so bitter and jealous they are not (there are always exceptions)

if you know you got the real deal with your man why get so mad, why get so defensive, especially when someone is making a general statement and not directing their comments to YOU??

maybe because those comments make you second guess your relationship, maybe those comments are hitting home to your relationship, IDK, but I sure find it funny that some on here could care less when this subject comes up and some "ring the alarm" and go out on a witch (or shall I say b*tch hunt) and then I look at whose ringing the alarm and then it all makes sense--well at least to an outsider looking in

let that stew

and dag, I didn’t know we have a true law officer here on ETJ

Bingo -

And I am speaking from my experiences at being a white woman in a Caribbean club, who is out for the night with my friends (incidentally, no males involved), and overhearing remarks made in the bathroom over the presence of whites in the club.

Ignorance, pure and simple. I speak up against it when I see it - No matter who I am defending.
