Jomo's girl.....I was wondering where Jomo is from ?(which part of the island)....you have mentioned that he has NEVER been on an escalator, and have also mentioned that he has NEVER been to a baseball game, as well as a mall and other placces.(these 3 just came to mind). I find this to be truly fasicnating..i guess i have always taken these things for granted. and thought they were everywhere in the world...its been a while since ive been to jamaica but i dont recall lugging my bags up and down stairs..or maybe it was all one floor, cant remeber...just amazing! I bet its almost like seeeing things thru a childs eyes..everything is soo new

He's from Jamaica.....Montego Bay. Says he has never seen escalators or revolving doors. I don't recall ever seeing any in JA. Elevators, yes; but not escalators. Saw them on tv and always wanted to try them. (and if you did any carryon luggage, you did lug it down stairs at the airport.) They play cricket in JA, not baseball. Our Malls are definately different then JA (what I would even call a mall that I have been to there).

He'd never seen a penguin. Or a giraffe, buffalo, puma, zebra......I was amazed. So, yes, things we take for granted are not available throughout the entire world. Makes you rethink, doesn't it?

Re: John Legend

Hmmm....never really thought about it, but if you Google John Legend gay you get all kinds of people talking bout how they figure he is.

It's funny, when celebs "come out" usually we usually laugh and say "no sh|t, like it wasn't obvious!" Look back to Elton John, Lance Bass, Liberace, George Michael, Boy George, etc... all gayer than the month of may, long before admitting it publicly.

One thing I hadn't really thought of, though is that we don't have many prominent black celebrities who are openly gay. It's just not as commonly admitted I suppose. So if John Legend is fruity, the world may never know.

Aside: did you know that Bayard Rustin was openly gay? Interesting.

I've seen some pictures where Legend and his buddy Kanye look really, um...happy, and just a little close. My money is on them being a D/L couple. In fact, the more I picture it the more it seems likely.

Here's a funny one... this is John Legend with Osama Bin Laden's niece. He must be gay...

Re: John Legend

Wow, would you advertise the fact that you were OBL's niece?

Homeland Security probably whisked JL away after that pic and did some sort of body cavity search on him. Hmmmmmmm.........maybe JL's plan all along!!!!

Re: John Legend

So true and soooo sad. There is a definite stigma in the black community about homosexuality...more so than with whites...which is why soooo many black men live life on the Down Low....Posativley disgusting!!!...not that they are gay but because they are living lie and contributing greatly to the spead of HIV and AIDs to the black woman.

I think Osama bin laden niece is very pretty...she cnat help who her uncle is.....I also think that Bin Laden is not as guilty of some of his "supposed crimes" as the United States Government would have us believe.

Yes, everything I've read indicates that the fact that the D/L men don't think they are gay or even bi, so they don't understand that they are at risk. The HIV present they bring home to wifey is so tragic I can't even begin to imagine. Heartbreak and illness in one suprise package.

Ditto that! The Bush administration could say that the sky is blue, and most of the world would want to check it out. It is sad how little credibility they have left--and it affects everyone, sadly.
