Gman - you won't regret it when you see him live. His concert was the single best live performance I've ever seen. Go guy the DVD and you'll see what I mean.

And Jel! Wooohooo! I'm proud of you girl, for getting the CD. Isn't it amazing? My all-time favorite song of his is Refuge though. It makes me wanna cry. Probably because it brings back so many memories of the actual concert.

the dvd wont do me.... I mean i have some recordings of his live perfomances....
And you would probably know the difference between seeing someone live on the tv and live in person... would you have been as satisfied as you are now if you had seen a tape of John Legend rather than went and saw him??

I've seen Wyclef Jean, BoyzIIMen, K-Ci & JoJo, Naughty by Nature, Ginuwine, Lauryn Hill, Third World, Farenhiet, Beres Hammond, Lionel Richie, John Schofield, Tim Hagans, and more.... and the televised versions, or recorded versions could not measure up to the experience of being there... in the crowd watching them perform...

So I hope you can visualize my face... staring at you with an awful feeling of complete and utter envy

I agree the live version can't be beat. One day you'll see him.

I saw Boyz II Men in concert too and it was pretty amazing at that time. What a fantastic acapella group they are. I have so much more respect for artists when you see them live and realize they CAN ACTUALLY SING! There are so many who can't.

Last year I did sound for 112... I was REALLY impressed. Those guys can sing too... I was impressed. I hate to admit it, but it's the same as when I met Britney Spears--she was off mic, warming up, and she has a really nice voice. This is some years ago--she was 18 at the time... and real cute b4 she got her stage-whore-makeup on.

And Urban, the singing thing. I've only seen a few concerts but of the ones I've seen here are the people that can actually sing.

I heard in recording school that its UNBELIEVABLE how many single words and single lines they had to punch in for Alannis Morrisette when recording her. I was actually shocked, I figured she'd be a good singer.

Yeah, it's amazing how many they do for most artists. You're right though about having to see them live... that's when the truth comes out.

I hate that most singers really can't sing. I always judge bands as better when I hear them with little to no accompanying music. The truth does come out then. And, most suck!
