Re: Q&A on Jamaica

LOL crap. I missed that question.

Okay I have to admit I googled about the Maroons and I think the question is a bit vague. Out of all the facts I found out I don't know which one Lady Rasta is getting at, except for maybe the Jamaican Maroons are the only group of maroons that scared the British into signing a treaty and abolishing the slave trade.

Is this right Lady?

LOL what I meant to say is that KC bought them for me years ago, so in theory they aren't mine, but technically they are.

Re: Q&A on Jamaica

the Jamaican moroons were a firece setta ppl that refused to be forced into slavery. legend or fact i dont know but it was told to me that they ran into the hills where they could not be found. It is said we have the moroons to thank for jerk...becuase in order to aviod being discovered, they would cover and smoke the food (jerk) so that the slav owners could not discover thier location. It is said the moroon.. (dark idian looking ppl) were native to the island of jamaican b4 the slave trade and traders settled.

any body jamican want to confirm?

That's actually exactly what I found when looking for the answer too. So I guess maybe we're right?
