Hey All-

Just wanted to let out some ANXIOUSNESS! I am interviewing for a job I REALLY REALLY want. It is working with pregnant women in the hospital- being an advocate for them and helping them recieve services (like medical, WIC, breastfeeding support, nurse home visits).

I'm so excited that I got an interview for this job-as I want to become a midwife eventually and this will help me get into the field.

I bought a new suit (not too expensive, my old one didn't fit as nicely), cut my hair today and will do my nails tonite. Also- i'm going to think of questions to ask them after I interview.

Please wish me luck with this interview! The other reason why it's so exciting is because if I don't get this job then i'm moving to another state! I've just been feeling that slump- and I need to get things moving!

Wow, I'm excited for you. One way you can stand out from the "competition" (as a former Recruiter, I know that the competition is NEVER as stiff as they may make it seem. Perhaps it will ease you mind to know that...quality employees are hard to find.) is by sending a thank you letter right right after your interview.

It's a great opportunity to ensure you're fresh in the minds of interviewers & it helps put you over the edge when the choice is between you and 1 other applicant. It's also another opportunity to sell yourself, using a point you perhaps missed saying before or wish to elaborate on.

I understand you might be nervous, but you can't go in there shaking bones and nacking teeth. Just relax. Count from 1 to 10 mississippi...............do some neck and arm excercises, tell your self to 'calm down" stop the madness, inhale, exhale........

Now walk in that place and show them what you made of. Remember that you are hired from the first sight they see you, so your first impression should be good and lasting.

Extend a firm handshake and a warm smile. Dress for success and I am sure with your expertise, you'll be hired.

I went in and did my best!

I dressed for success (as PB mentioned). THe interviewer even commented that my suit was nice. I actually enjoyed the interview.

And thanks for the tip, SuzetteJamaica. I'm going to send a thank you card after I get out of work!

I believe I was the first person to interview for the position. THey have a week more of interviews. I made an impression!
