Re: most offensive fashion crime?
My opinion of Fashion Crimes are:
Michael Jackson Dennis Rodman Any female on a runway wearing haute coutour Other than that, I think the return of long hair on skateboarders sucks. The pants around the knees with the shorts hangin out, and the MASSIVE wide legs that skateboarders wear.

Other than that, yes, I too am guilty of playing fashion police. For one, I don't let Vogue and Elle tell me what fashion is - I make my own. Besides that: 1. panty lines through tight clothing - Don't wear any. 2. Tight clothing with rolls coming through - not a good idea 3. Tennis socks and flip flops - not out of the house please. 4. Hip-huggers and panties showing - no go 5. High heels if you can't walk in them - why do that to yourself? 6. Open toe shoes if it's 20 degrees outside..... I could go on and on, but I guess that's it for now.....

I have a real problem with the whole fashion industry period and nothing they wear on the runway is wearable in real life anyways! I just can't believe people get paid to make clothing out of garbage bags and other people get paid to be anorexic and wear them! Like I said....if I've offended in any way that was not my intention. Ur my girl...would neva try to piss you off!! ![]()

Re: most offensive fashion crime?
Jam, no offense taken. I just wanted to understand why you feel that way and also clarify that not all Haute Coutour is garbage...there are some truly beautiful clothes created by designers like Oscar de la Renta, House of Dior, etc. that, given, not everybody can wear, but that doesn't make them any less beautiful.
I'm thinking that you are probably refering to the designs of Gaultier, who is sometimes "out there" but there are also clothes that are not designed to be worn, but to entertain - namly - during a fashion show. I have done shows in legwarmers, G-string and plaster bustier - obviously not something I would wear to the club, but very effective during a show. It is also a misconception that all runway models starve themselves or binge to be a size 2. Many are just born slim and have high metabolisms that allow them to stay that way. I will agree that there are some who do, but I wouldn't say it's the norm. Because it shows on your face if you're putting your body through changes like that... And let me tell you: The money is damn good. It's just another way of using what GOD gave you to get paid. And if it's something people will buy or are interested in seeing and paying for, I don't see anything wrong with it. Personally, I think it's worse that someone can get paid of some of these songs that are out here...and that goes through all types of music....

Can I help the guys out on this?
Runway clothes are like the prototype models that car makers come out with. We know we won't see them on the streets, much less be able to buy them, but something, some influence from those cars will make it to the car lot. Didn't mean to interrupt, girls, thanks.

Re: most offensive fashion crime?
I don't have a problem with runway modelling, I find some clothing really intresting and as some members did mention previously they are not for the everyday common folk but for celebs and other entertainment purposes.
I will watch a Tommy Male and a Sean John fashion show for the mere fact I can go out a purchase their formal wear attire and be classy when I am all suited up.
