What the hell is so important about skin color?? The man is half black...he still has ancestors that were slaves...and ancestors that may have been slave owners. The shade of his skin determines which side claims him???
As long as people judge by the shade of a persons skin..racism will exist on both sides.
And that's a bit high and mighty to claim him as black when he's just as much white. Your saying that the white doesn't count because his skin came out darker!! Bet you wouldn't say that if he came out super light!!
I am not insulting either side..or you Alex...these are just my opinons.
I know girls who have the same mixed blood as me...BUT they came out dark. They are accepted by the black community where as I'm just seen as white. How does that make sense when we both have the same mixed genes?
So if I became President would I be the first black lady president because I'm mixed..or would I just be another white pres???
I thought our generation had learned not to judge by the color of ones skin.

I sense an atmosphere of anger. If I am correct, then we have defeated the whole purpose of what thsi thread was intended for. And as such, maybe we should discontinue.
We agree to disagree.
If you can show me any OFFICIAL document that does NOT depict President Obama as teh first AFRICAN AMERICAN President of the United States, then I will gladly extend my apologies and agree with you.
As I said before, I dont disagree with any inference if other races within his gene pool. I am adding that he is not unusual because many of US BLACKS are as well. I dont have to run down the list of my ancestral line to prove it.
I am Black, Obama ia Black. If you dont agree...I respect that; you have a right to your opinion as well.
