Re: Jammie's MASSIVE Sumfest 2008, ridiculously photographic trip report.
After playing pool and swimming at the beach a while the boys take us back to the hotel. ONeil has to get home to Negril for the funeral stuff and I need a damn nap!! Ashley slept til evening, I couldn't really sleep much even though I wanted to. I don't really remember what we did in between evening and midnight when we finally decided to go out and eat and find something to do. Yes, we headed out into the streets at midnight for dinner. We ended up finding a place called Jolly Rogers where we had fried chicken for dinner. Our plan after this was to just walk until we found a place to party.
We didn't walk far when 2 Jamaican dudes approached us, so we asked them where we could go for some fun. They suggested Margaritaville and Pier 1, which neither of us like the idea. We told them we wanted a NO TOURIST party LOLOL this reminds me of when me and GG were in Boston asking around for clubs with no white people. Well these boys were on their way to a club downtown but they said its a badman club and we shouldn't go. But we said YES we wanted to go. They hesitated a lot before saying we could come.
Turned out to be one of the best nights we've had!!!! It was scary as hell going into the heart of downtown and seeing the action around this place. We actually stood at the door for about 10 minutes reconsidering and we endured a LOT of odd looks from the people in the streets outside the club. Finally we got the guts to pay the door and go inside.
The first hour was seriously uncomfortable....people stared at us, some girls walked by me and purposely brushed up against me as they passed, it was weird. And the boys we went in with kinda stayed back from us LOL. I think they were just surprised we even went. So I went and bought a Magnum and decided to get my party on. After the reggae switched the dancehall I started really moving and it was at that point that the people in there warmed up to our presence. They thought it was hilarious that I knew all the Jamaican dances and that we actually could sing the words to the songs. So the rest of the night was really good and the 2 boys that came with us probably ended up famous LOLOL.
Went home about 4am.
