jahlove7 nah do too bad.
It’s Not So Real

It’s Not So Real

It’s just the inner city blues
Sidewalks paying dues
Shell casing the only clues
Crime set on cruise
Souls with nothing to lose
Grasping unattainable dreams
Fades like moonbeams
Innocence in the distance screams
Life and death interweaves
What they see, what they believe
Juveniles with egotistical pride
On a peeps rep they ride
Ghetto stars become their guide
Reality and perceptions collide
Fear rests on their insides
Yet, continues with their battles
Generations going round in circles
Surviving only on miracles
Seeks solace in oracles
Their future remains in shackles
Saturday night escapades
Riding durdy in escalades
Videos in head rest being played
Signature, You know I am paid
Card face down, is still a spade
Shorty is living the high life
Holding out to be a wife
Takes deep cuts from his knife
To be envied it’s a small sacrifice
Self-reliance is just too much strife
So easily she plays the game
Often she is the caboose on the train
Won’t even remember their names
Drug impaired she feels no pain
Still proud of the indelible stains
Happy she being seen in VIP
Shows she of some pedigree
Roving eyes just can’t believe
For all their feelings of envy
It’s paid for later on her knees...

Ole up, wait a minute
This is the wrong script
That’s how some want to spin it
Calling it real doesn’t make it legit
This is what they are afraid to admit
To the young man who graduates
Knows there are choices to debate
Takes charge of his fate
Welcomes the hard work it takes
Understands the limits of his faith
You see he stayed in school
Used its resources and tools
Survived playing the part being un-cool
Realizes who truly rules
Has seen the graveyards of fools
Forgoes the so called respect
Gained much more with intellect
Relishes in its after effect
Humbled, he knows he is not perfect
Yet, it’s what he expects
He does not need weapons to tote
Always taking mental notes
Has not read murder he wrote
Understands the right to vote
Self-determination he forever promotes
She has her head on her shoulders
Sees herself being more than a mother
A family can wait until she’s older
Gets to know him before he holds her
Not impressed by street soldiers
Proud she achieved her Phd
Exudes the strength of a true queen
Demands respect like royalty
Accepts her skin tone as natural beauty
Plays her part with such dignity
No longer just lays on her back
Promiscuity is not part of her act
Dismisses it as a known fact
Somehow it’s innate to being black
She will be taking another track
One which includes a king
Not just to wear a wedding ring
But all the stability love truly brings
A hope for the future on which to cling
She understands without love there is nothing....

**** dat, listen dis
Sumting fi mek yu jump an twis

Want to see a nigga go crazy
Put a noose around his neck
Want to see a nigga go crazy
Hold onto her welfare check
Want to see niggas go crazy
Make fun of their intellect
