I have been told that I may qualify to apply for citizenship in Jamaica by being married to a Jamaican wife. Is this true or will I have to live as a Permanent Resident for several years first? Also, I was told to get a "form R1" but neither the embassy or the NYC Consulate seems to have one. Anybody know where I can get it?
I didn't read most of the threads because it was all about Wisewoman, so I don't know if your issue was resolved. If not, I can get an R1 form for you no problem. I just left the Jamaican embassy getting citizenship for my son. I inquired about the processing time for citizenship by marraige and they say it is currently taking 1-3 years. It is quicker if you are living there. It cost $120 US to apply. PM me and I'll fax you the info.
