tell the folks from the UK that were on the plane with the guy with the IPod and Gatorade bomb that it is a 'blown-out-of-proportion' issue.

its your security...take it from someone who has been in the airline industry for almost 10 years...yes...it sucks i agree (on a personal note...i have to fly standby...which usually means CARRY-ON baggage only for me...and yes the rules apply to me as well...no liquids, gels or pastes. this means i have to BUY everything upon arrival to wherever i am going)...but might as well get used to it.
