You also give me hope as I have never really driven in Ja, except for point A to point B no turns. I keep inquiring about car insurance coverage in JA and companies get dumbfounded. I will probably use hertz as I get a corporate rate, but what were the charges and coverge.
I'll need to have a car because like you I have alot of errands to run besides I'll have my son and I go no where with him on any public transportation.

Also, I didn't see the pics, but how was ur villa in Ironshore? Was it a private kitchen and living area? If I may ask how many bedrooms?
I wanted to use Hertz as well as you get miles with Air Ja but they were booked up. Now insurance on the rental came to 105 bucks for the week. Now I was upset because the deductible was automatically 1k which it seems to be for most of the companies. It was told to me that I should have rented a car with a local agency and I would not have to put a the deposit.
As for car insurance on a regular car they have loads of companies but none that we have in the states. the only one is AIG but I am not sure if they do auto but I think they do.
The villa is Ironshore was nice It had only three bedrooms and the owner lived in one. So I stayed there with other people as well as this time just me alone. So the kitchen and living area was shared. The owner was never there so for the most part I had the place to myself. There are some real nice villas out in Ironshore.
