The saga continues (or should I say never ends?)......

Filing the I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (this MUST be filed within 90 days of arrival in the US)

I-485
Copy of Jomo's Birth Certificate
Copy of the Visa Page of Jomo's Passport
Copy of I-797 K-1 Approval Notice
Copy of Jomo's Police Record
Copy of Jomo's I-94 Arrival Record
G-325A in Quadruplicate (is that a word?)
I-864 Affidavit of Suport, notarized
Copies of my last few months paycheck stubs
Letter from my employers stating when I started, how much I make, and that it is a continuous postion
Last 3 years of Tax returns with W-2's, notarized
Another copy of the I-797 K-1 approval notice
Another copy of the I-94
Copy of our certified marriage certificate

You can also send a copy of the shot records (no medical needed again on the K-1) if you can find it. We can't right now. I called UCIS (30 mins on hold yesterday) about this issue. We can still send this in and continue to look for the shot records up until the interview. If we can't find it, we have to go to one of their approved docs for them all over again.

All of this will go in to the UCIS next Tuesday with the $335 for the I-485 and the $70 for the biometrics. Then, we wait for the scheduled stuff like the biometrics and the actual interview. I have heard this can take as few as four months and as many as 11 months or more.

In the meantime, we add him to my bank accounts (once we get his SSN), our rental agreement, my credit cards, etc. And, take lots of pictures, etc. as proof we are a married couple.

The work permit is one month in process. No word yet. The web site says they are at least 3 months behind in processing these. That means ours would not come through till September or so. The waiting is the hardest part!
