I've lived on other islands for many years, and sometimes it's just such a treat to have meat (special cuts, roasts) from the States. Some Caribbean countries will permit entry of food with no problem; others specify that it must be USA stamped; others still will require a permit. For example, for some time in St. Kitts there was a total ban on US meat, because of the mad cow scare. Just before that, we couldn't bring in any meat from St. Martin, because of the mad cow prevalence in Europe.
So I am trying to get a handle on what kind of regulations are in actual effect in Jamaica....as these regulations change!
