Re: Teaching Opportunities

Greetings to all!

I just returned from JA yesterday. I am working in the Blue Mountains to start an NGO called the Blue Mountain Project to open up a Health Clinic. If anyone would like to learn more about the project, I'd be happy to tell

Anyway, check this site for more info on the Education system. JA is very open to foreign educators, but keep in mind that there is very little money to be made. My best girl friend is a teacher in JA and makes about US$141 or J$8,500 per month and on top of that has to purchase any school supplies out of her salary. The only other benefit she gets is a free lunch. However, her expenses are somewhat low...rent is about US$50 per month, groceries about US$10 per week. She has shared utilities and all the mango, banana, apple, and plaintin she can pick!
