He then told me if I trusted him, he could get rid of the cough. Homer was his name; he took us to his house where we met his family. He then took us in is yard where he had grown lot of plants. We boiled three leaves and made a tea that I drank, the cough stop and I did cough for about ten years. I can't remember the name of the plant and was hoping maybe someone might know some of the herbal rememdies used in Jamaica.
I know a little about the condition, hope the following will help. sarcodosis can affect any where on the body it just so happens that with you it affects your lung. the main thing for you to do really is a void those things which disturb the breathing aparitus;such as smooking, chemicals, dust particulies etc.
the following herbs are good for the toning of the lung and keeping it in good shape you can choose from which every one use it as a tea the 1st should be taken in to account though.
LUNGWORT (pulmonaria officinalis}
other names it might be called are: spotted lungwort, maple lungwort, jerusalem cowslip/sage, spotted comfrey, oak lung or lungmoss.

USES: it is most valuable for coughs, influenza, catarrah, colds, la grippe, lung troubles, bleeding lungs and all bronchial troubles.

DOSAGES:take 11/2 tsp of the liquid extract in a cup of water daily with .a prayer
OTHER HERBS:Red sage, bayberry bark, comfrey, pennyroyal,sassafras, vervain, hyssop,nettle, slippery elm, ginseng.

I really hope that this will help-sorry I haven't studied into the herbs used in jamaica but these are just as good.
